A horse made of horse-shoes

This horse is situated at our house-sit place. It was really hard to photograph. We took photos yesterday from the other side but it blended into the shrubbery. Today, Vince took one from the other side and it’s much better. It’s made of horse-shoes and is very well done. It has a lovely flowing mane and tail. Even the mouth and hooves look quite realistic in a stylised way.
The chain at the rear is attached to an old horse-drawn plough which has a skeleton sitting in the seat and red reflectors have been put in the eyes. I think the skeleton spoils the whole effect but to each his own as they say. I’ll put up a photo of the horse and plough another time. It has rained here most of today but they are forecasting better weather over the next few days.
Thanks to Vince for the photo.

This is a lovely sculpture of a horse. I would agree with you. A skeleton would ruin the flow of the piece. I guess not everyone can have good taste.

@JudyEv A man made of human shoes would look more interesting, though.

I thought it was very awesome. I'd like one like it in my garden. There might be just enough room for it!

I don't know who made it and the owners aren't here to ask. But I'll ask them when they return.

Vince did a great job! That's so cool!
My husband is a welder and I have too many ideas for horseshoe "art". I'm sure the hubs is glad I haven't been able to find any lately.

@JudyEv I'm in Texas. We still use them, for everyday horse life, here. But I believe too many people are making things from the cast offs.

Very nice. Is the skeleton made of horseshoes, too?

Now that takes talent to build something like that!! I wonder how long it took? I especially like the tail!! That looks so realistic!

What a great piece of art! There seems to be a lot of this sort of thing in Australia.
