My kids love this simple and very easy to do chocolate mug cake. It is a sort of a healthy version of traditional chocolate cake. I use oat flour, banana, 100% pure cocoa, butter and yeast. I put it in a mug and go to the microwave for 2 minutes and a half. When it is ready I put a square of chocolate in the top to melt. I did these this afternoon, for now it is the only mug cake I do but I am learning new recipes. Have you tried to do a mug cake? Picture of my chocolate mug cake

I know that many parents love the mug cake concept, as its a quick snack and gets the little ones used to mixing and watching the microwave. I have not tried making one. In fact, I just took 2 small rectangular cakes out of the oven which I made from my dear Gramma's recipe. She taught me so much about so many things, her baking and her methods were my favorite things to learn.

I don't have a microwave but I wonder if I could do that on the stovetop.

It is the burner on the top of a stove where you heat pots full of food.

This is interesting. I bought a ready made mix to try a mug cake and it was not good. I could try your recipe.

@nela13 Thank you for your recipe, I do not like too sweet and I think the banana will make it sweet enough.

I don't add sugar. I use one banana, 2 spoons of oat flour, 1 spoon of chocolate (I use 100% pure cocoa), 1 small spoon of butter and 1 of yeast. If you like it more sweet you can add a spoon of honey. Mix everything and goes to the microwave.

Pretty buys pre-made packets for mug cake. She pours the packet into the mug, adds water and stirs then microwaves it. She prefers the Funfetti cake, though.

I didn't know that there are pre-made packets for mug cake, anyway I prefer to cook it from the scratch as this way I can choose the ingredients I use.

I made a chocolate mug cake for a snack once when I was cutting out carbs. The one I made took only 90 seconds in the microwave. I bet your kids are so excited when they get to cook.
