Last of The Bumble Bees For Now

Was out in the yard earlier enjoying the nice weather we had today. I also noticed a few blooms left in the garden. Hummingbirds are continuing to zoom around the feeders as well. Birds are bathing in the bird bath. A few white blooms remain on my butterfly bush blooms in Dustin's garden. I noticed this large bumble bee enjoying the nectar. I slowly followed him from bloom to bloom, snapping photos all along. Always excited to see the bees in the garden. This may be one of the last ones of this season. Fall has arrived. But they will return next year to enjoy the nectar and pollen in the yard and garden. More little things to share with you. Photo is mine. Zoomed in to see the details of this bumble bee.

That is a really nice snap. Additionally, I am using Mylot on a laptop after a number of days and delighted to see a bigger image. I have been using Mylot more in short sprints of late so tend to use mobile more. So Bumble Bees do not like to come in Fall weather? Do they migrate to warmer climates?

@CarolDM Generally when we thought of hibernation, we thought of Foxes, Bears and Rabbits. Never thought of Bees or Bumble Bee.

They hibernate underground over the winter. They enjoy the nectar and pollen from the spring and summer blooms. The blooms start to disappear in the fall.

@CarolDM Bees and bumble bees are sweet little insects, they do not fear and do not attack humans.

@LadyDuck If you make sudden moves they might chase you only out of survival mode.

@CarolDM I have not seen this black one. You seem to have a big garden. We don't have it here as I live in an apartment so I miss watching nature so closely like you do.

Where do bees hide during cold days? Can't they survive? You'll surely miss to see them. One year is too long.

I used to see them on the Thunbergia's in our garden. They used to be invaders and so I have tried to pull them out. I still see a vine showing and with no flowers yet.
