What I've learned from this religion because I had once become a JW, is their strong love of the brotherhood. I really admire them for that.

Jehovah's witnesses are not forcing any one to believe what they preach but since they are chosen by their God, Jehovah to be his witnesses(Isiah 43:10-12), they are commissioned the preach the good news of God's kingdom to each and every one as a witness to them before the end comes. (Matthew 24:14;28:19). This was Jesus'main theme in preaching during his time on Earth. So, dear friend, Jehovahs'witneses are trying to help you to gain the best hing in life- everlasting life on a paradise earth.

Hi, rlakesham, I suggest you ask one of the witnesses for a free personal Bible study. You will get the information from God´s word and then you decide what to do with it, follow it or not.
We were born with free will and nobody is forced to do anything, but we are responsible to God for what we decide. If we follow his word, we will be richly blessed since he always wants our best.

www.watchtower.org or just ask your aunt. I am sure she'd be happy to explain herself and her beliefs

rlakesham, did you ever ask your cousin's Aunt these questions? It seems to me that that would be the one close person you could have talked to first, and then compare public opinion to her response. The Jehovah witnesses, like most religious groups, have their set of beliefs. Why the Jehovah Witnesses do not believe in Christmas, birthdays, etc. is simply viewpoint and should have nothing whatsoever to do with God or His word -
I, however, personally believe it is futile for any Christian not to support something such as Christmas, a day the world (that would not listen the word of God) observe as the birthdate of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. My question then is: Was Jesus, whom we, Christians, want to present to the world as the solution to the world's problems, born? And if the ungodly world chooses to celebrate His birth, regardless of factual date of birth, who cares? This, to me, is very good news and a time for Christians to seize the opportunity to explain this Jesus, whom the world probably celebrates blindly!
Well, Merry (or Happy) Christmas to you! God bless!
