A Spooky Night

A rather silly Halloween poem I wrote a couple of years ago, but I kind of like it. It makes me think of the Nazareth song “Love Hurts.” So here is my poem and this song that stays in my mind. Put up those garlic wreaths the fun begins tomorrow Happy Halloween! I like it just for fun and have no one to share in any fun any longer, but it is all right.
Spooky Night
Mist rising from the rainy pavement,
thick fog forming,
she shivered as she walked –
behind her shuffling footsteps were heard.
Hurrying on collar raised high,
she stumbled,
two eyes startled her,
coming out of the dark.
He was so handsome,
cloaked in a dark cape,
lip smiling –
he took her hand.
Suddenly there through the fog and mist,
they danced in the rain,
he pulled her so very close,
she felt his breath upon her neck
and when she felt his teeth,
sink into her neck –
it was nirvana.
During the good times with Martin in his werewolf mask behind a giant homemade bat one Halloween.

I love your poem! I haven't written any since I was a teenager. I do remember one I wrote, hope you don't mind if I share it. It's a bit odd and a bit funny!
Withered withered little rose
Crushed beneath people's toes,
you used to smell so nice and sweet,
now you smell like sweaty feet.
My poetry did get better along the line. I had considered going into writing for publication...I never really got there. Now you know why 
!
