Someone came home very happy! my kids went to trick or treat and arrived home with all the candies you can see in the picture. It is always a happy time for them. Last 2 years it was impossible to ask for trick or treat due to covid, so this year was special for the kids. It is nice to see their enthusiasm Do you have kids asking for trick or treat?

I'm glad your kids enjoyed themselves and hope they don't eat enough candy to make themselves sick. Nope. A kid got some poisoned candy years ago so the city council banned trick or treats here.

Tonight they ate some but they already know that they cannot eat sweets without permission. How awful, poisoned candy?! What happened to the kid?

@nela13 That was 12 years ago. As best I can remember, he was in the hospital for a couple of days but came out just fine.

In this household there are no children that are interested in celebrating Halloween.

I did not know that you celebrate Halloween in Portugal. No trick or treat here in the south of Switzerland. I know nothing about the north.

@nela13 It did not last here, some years ago the stores used to have Halloween candies and costume, it's already over.

Lots of yummy treats there. I am sure they will enjoy them. We dont get trick or treaters were we live. Where I lived before this I use to get hundreds of little ones and I loved it.

Happy for your kids. A friend lives in Australia and messaged earlier. She said they don't have Halloween there.

@nela13 Yes, you're right. However, gradually it influences some especially the younger generations.

I really don't understand why it is called trick or treat. It is not common here in my country before but now it seems many are doing giving candies to kids on Halloween. I think it's really fun. Glad your kids enjoyed it

Covid put the lid on such a lot of celebrations. It's good to see kids/people being able to get out more now.
