A Lego village

We spent Christmas with our niece and her family. On the long sideboard is a Lego village with a number of different buildings including shops, a fire-station, hotel, etc. Although you can’t see it here, there is also an Eiffel Tower on the right.
Our boys had a lot of Lego and spent many happy hours playing with it and creating all sorts of things. It seems to be one of those toys that never loses its appeal.

I bet it took a long time to build that Lego village. Sometimes I think Legos have more appeal for adults

@JudyEv we have a tv game show here that's called Lego Masters and teams compete with some extravagant Lego creations. It's unbelievable some of the things they make. Does Vince come up with some elaborate Lego creations?

@Marilynda1225 He and a mate made a pile driver once. The real ones are used in ports. Theirs drove a matchstick into a lump of plasticine. A lead fishing float was the actual 'driver'.

I played with Legos as a kid, and both of my children played with Legos as well. I'll be honest, I would still play with Legos now as an adult if I had any in the house to play with!
There is a huge Lego store at Disney World where you can buy just about any set imaginable. My son wants me to buy him a Star Wars Lego set of the Millennium Falcon that costs nearly a thousand dollars!

@JudyEv Lego is not just for children. Lego has a Lego Certified Professionals program for adults who creates architecture models, sculptures and mosaics and showcase them to appreciators at exhibitions.

Years ago one of my roommates used to ask for Legos for birthday and Christmas presents. He had half the garage taken up with them.

@JudyEv My friend is almost 20 years younger than me. I felt like his dad every time I went shopping for Lego sets for him.

This is big enough now to look like it's part of the decoration.
