I taught one of my music students John Denver's "Take Me Home Country Roads" tonight. Have you heard of that song?

I have been teaching my 16-year-old guitar student some pretty obscure Jesse Winchester songs recently.
She is really sweet, but I realized I was leading her down a path of folk songs that many people don't know.
Tonight I taught her John Denver's "Country Roads." I was a kid at Summer Camp when that song came out (or at least when I first heard it), and I could tell it was going to be a hit, even as a sprout.
Have you heard it? Maybe I'll attach a link.
I also taught her some bluegrass l*cks (you figure out why I had to use a star there), including the "Flatt run."
Now I get to sleep. Kitty has taught me that sleeping is something one should do as often as possible.

Of course I've heard that song, being as old as those country roads...

I like the song very much and I can sing it as well. I used to teach my students to sing the song. Both the melody and lyrics are easy to understand. Also I like It Never Rains in California, an interesting song.

Yes I have heard of the song, very good song. Back in the 80s, I saw John Denver live in concert.

@dodostrez I think it "launched" John Denver's career.
