Catch and Eat

We took our friends out for breakfast this morning as a thank you for picking us up at the airport.
Tomorrow, we will be going out to dinner with them, and I already know what I plan to order. Mahi-mahi. I’m not sure if I’ve ever eaten it before, but I want to try it.
My older son took his wife and my grandkids to Cabo San Lucas at the tip of the Baja California Peninsula in Mexico for their Christmas vacation. The photo shows one of the two mani-mahi fish my grandson caught. They had it for dinner. My son said it was delicious. He also caught 4 marlins, but returned them to the Pacific Ocean.
I believe in eating what you catch or return the fish to the water.

It is a big fish. I´d have several dinners with it. Enjoy!

Never did like fishing. I just don't like watching life suffering for their lives, until they eventually die. Guess I don't like fish for that main reason. Although I did have to eat it as a child.

That’s right my boyfriend catches and we eat at least when he does catch fish. That was nice of you to take your neighbors out for breakfast I am sure they enjoyed it

@DianneN Right but they feel there must be as a thank you

@Tina30219 Probably, but it’s not necessary. A simple thank you would be enough.

Your boyfriend is quite the fisherman! I’m glad you eat the fish that he catches.
Our friends take us out when we pick them up from the airport, but I’m going to put an end to it. They fly home every month, and we happily drive them to and from the airport. No need to be treated.

I hope you enjoy the mahi-mahi...
Pretty likes fish but doesn't want to scale them and prepare them to cook. She always releases them instead.

@DianneN Oh, very nice. When Pretty was little, I scaled her fish and cooked them for her. After I became allergic to fish, I won't touch any except to play with my guppies when they swim between my fingers, "petting" me.

I have been eating like there is no tomorrow. I have to watch myself, because my grandson is having his Bar Mitzvah in May. I need to buy an outfit that isn't a tent
If it's still on the menu, I'm definitely going to order it. If not, there is wiener schnitzel!

How cool. What a great picture. I like to see the fish returned to the water as well.

@DianneN My husband would be so jealous. He wants to buy a small boat if we ever move to the Keys.

@DianneN I hope the mahi mahi you prepared was tasty. I'm looking for the fish's name in our language. nonetheless, the Meriam Dictionary states that it is a dolphin fish. We refer to them as "dorado" according to a webpage. I think we have purchased that, but I'm not sure.

@DianneN I also like cod, less swordfish, I like more haddock and salmon. I remember that some restaurants in Florida called it "dolphin" and I wondered how they were allowed to kill and serve a dolphin, then I knew that it was mahi-mahi.

That fish is quite big and good enough. Good that they returned the others else it would have been wasted.
Are you going to try Mahi mahi fish for the first time? Hope you like it.
