Do you believe that giving chocolate as a present to people is a good idea?

On Valentine's Day, most women enjoy receiving some chocolates and a bouquet of flowers. In my opinion, chocolates make terrific presents for both ladies and children. It is acceptable to select chocolates as a present. What gift would you prefer to get on this important day, if you were to receive anything? Image Credit: flowerstokorea.com

A sweet gesture to show I was remembered on Valentine's Day is all that I need . But of course chocolate will always be welcomed .

I like chocolates and I know that my husband knows which kind of chocolate I would like to receive. No flowers for me, they die after only a few days and this makes me sad.

My father said the same thing about cut flowers. I've always given my parents potted plants/flowers so they could plant them in their yard afterwards.

@LadyDuck Yes, my parents too! My dad was the gardener, so somehow he was able to keep these plants thriving. Even if I had bought the same plant at the same time for our yard, mine would be long gone while theirs got big and continued to live.

@much2say I always offered potted plants to my mother. She was so proud to show me that they grew up well and healthy.

I think that is very hard you find a woman that don't like to receive chocolates and I can say the same about flowers. One tip that I can give to you is give one not in a special date like Valentine's Day.

You have a point. A dinner date or cook something in the house with all the efforts on Valentine's Day. I am sure the partner would jump for joy and feel too sweet to do such a thing.
