Moms--what are some good post-stomach-flu foods?

It's been three days since I've eaten now, and I am starting to be able read food posts without feeling nauseous.
In fact, I'm almost a bit hungry.
I am sipping chicken buillon, and have had some bits of bread, some small slices of cheddar cheese, and some ice cream with milk on it.
Should I try some toast? Would yogurt be OK?
I will keep doing the buillon thing, and I will keep hydrating. My temperature has been normal all day.

The BRAT diet is supposed to be good when you have tummy issues. That's bananas, rice, applesauce, and toast. All are easily digested.

Try soft foods you like. They tend to do well after the flu.

@kaylachan Yep. I don't feel too weak. I think it's good that I've really made an effort to stay hydrated. OK, here goes.

If you no longer feel like you have the stomach flu each whatever you want other wise if your still sick with stay away from dairy so milk and yogurt would be a no. You would do a brat diet which is dry cereals, toast, soups like you said chicken, plain pasta, even rice.

@TheHorse That would make it chicken noodle soup then. Yeah, if you handle milk already just eat whatever you want. You pasted the stomach flu part which is you being throwing up or it is coming out the other end. Thats why it's called stomach flu.

@ShyBear88 I had both. Fortunately, it kind of alternated, so I didn't have to stand in the shower and let loose all at one. More details available upon request.

Oh, God. I hope you don't have what I had. The one good thing about this illness was that I was usually able to find a pain-reducing position on my bed. In my case, it was flat on my back, with moderate heat on and my covers drawn.

Yogurt is good to restore your gut flora. The formula given for the recovering stomach is called the BRATT diet. Bananas, rice, applesauce, tea, and toast (dry). Gingerale is helpful or ginger tea. This year the stomach bug is awful.

I'm not a mom, and I've never played one on TV, but I recommend soda biscuits, toast and ginger ale.

Toast would be good. You can try some solid food...just don't overdo it.

do avoid anything creamy, oily or fatty as viruses tend to cling to fatty compounds and make things worse for your tummy. cheese, milk, ice cream, whipped cream and other dairy products may not be good either.
plain toasted bread can be good with some jam (not butter or cheese). perhaps match the bread with thin some soup.
i give my kids probiotic drink when they're in the recovering stage already. but at the height of their illness, i prefer to give them thin soups and have them finish bottles of room temp water for hydration.
i hope you feel better soon!

My mom had two remedies, One was black pepper in a shot glass with vodka and down the hatch, If needed a couple of time during the day. If not that then cups of chamomile tea,

Yogurt would be great, lots of probiotics in that. How about cottage cheese?

I think you are off to a good start. Don't hit the dairy too heavy, K?
For the next few days, don't hit the Taco Bell or scarf fast food. You don't need the grease, your tummy needs time to re-line and recover. Take care of yourself!
