We have had 2 tornadoes on the ground in the last 25 minutes, came way too close.

Sirens went off forever. The wind and hail are wild. I still have power but it blinks a lot. Bad accidents all over the area, people don't stay home! Good grief.
Now we have ''debris'' warnings as the wind keeps up. Anhydrous ammonia leak about 5 miles away from the storm. And the worst part is, more coming a bit later, everything very unstable.
Yes, I am in a safe place. But no one really can say that about tornadoes, they do what they want to do. Things and cars don't really matter, but people sure do.
Say a prayer for us, or wish upon a star, or whatever it is that you do...thank you!!

I was ready and in my hunker down place...but it has passed. Now the news and police and others are assessing the damages.

No one can ever figure out just exactly what Mother Nature will dish out to us.

I am praying for you and your family and everyone else that is getting tornados around them. There are so many and for you to get two of them by you in such a short time. That is scary. I have watched tornados strike down where I used to live. They are so destructive
Be safe and keep us posted.

It really has been crazy and terrible. It seems that in every way possible, we live in a land of extremes!

It came SO close.
I heard a tour bus was smacked by the tornado on our interstate, not far from me--about a mile.

Almost 40 people on that bus and no bad injuries, the bus flipped over. But there is a 20plus car pile up all around it, evidently the tornado that came so close to me went on it's way and crossed the interstate. It's all shut down now.

That wind was wicked. It's still very windy, but not like it was earlier. Thank you, Dena.

There are still quite a few people who have no power. The interstate has remained closed and they have been re-routing traffic thru our town on a state highway to the next town, so that the workers can work on the power grid, which in that particular spot, goes over the interstate. It makes for a ton of traffic in our bedroom community to the nearby city. But they are getting it fixed, and power is important.

It's a hit and miss thing. Often there are warnings and they go around us or fizzle. A few years back a nearby small town was nearly wiped off the map. We were so fortunate last night.

@MGjhaud
There are some shelters available but not nearly enough. Most people stay in their homes, usually only the people who live in RV's or mobile homes go to the shelters to be safe.

I've lived through several hurricanes in my lifetime, they are certainly scary as well. Let's hope this year there won't be any terrible ones! Thank you, Kandase.

There is no rhyme or reason to a tornado. It can hit a subdivision and just take out the 3 middle houses, leaving the rest intact. Or go down a street and not hit a thing, then turn and wipe out everything in sight. No one really ever knows exactly what a tornado will do.
Glad you are safe as well, Carol.

I’m glad you had a safe place to go. I can’t get over how many tornadoes have hit already and the ‘tornado season’ hasn’t even started.

It truly was wild, and I really do hope it's not a beginning of a trend for us, or for anyone. It took until this morning to get everyone repaired for electricity, etc. I was fortunate enough to not have mine damaged, but others were not so lucky. Thank you.
