Last Friday we as a family decided to go on an island trip in Palawan where the place is still in very pristine place. We started our tour with the underground river cave. I was amazed at how the cave was really that large and long and has those stalactites and stalagmite rock formation. Then the next day we went on an island tour, although it was a bit rainy there good thing it stops after a few minutes of heavy downpour and the place was just amazingly beautiful. I was able to do snorkeling which I missed for a very long time already and seeing the sea and the corals and fishes that swan around the place was a magnificent sight. The only thing hard was the trip which was a bit long and tiring but I think it is worth the while .

The trip was really tight as travel was long I think it would be better if its a 5 day vacation tour. We only had 3 days.

@rsa101 We've had that happen before, too. It's always better if we have more time to spend on the vacation and less on the traveling.

@DaddyEvil Thats true traveling takes time. But in our place the farther it is the better the place is. Anyway we enjoyed our trip despite that since this was out first far vacation since the lockdown. We used to travel to nearby places for staycations this time it was a full tour of the place far from home.

Oh I see, so sorry you have this condition. It was dark and full of bats and other birds the only light we have was with the boatman who guided us through the cave. It was fun seeing what was inside they were all naturally formed rocks that resemble something.

@LadyDuck I see although I have anxiety too it calmed me down when I was inside it. Mine is not about closed spaces perhaps.

@rsa101 I immediately suffer a panic attack in a dark place, even worse if it's underground.

@toniganzon not sure about December. I haven't asked the guide if it is good to be there. But maybe it might since rains are less during those time of the year and it also cooler too.

Better yet next year. The tour guide said the best time to visit them is Mar-May because the weather is sunny and the sea calmer. Right now, the sea is a bit rough though it could be explored depending on the weather since it rains every now and then.

True although it is not good to go there at this point in time since it is already rainy season but we were able to tour with rains on the side from time to time.

Indeed most of the place are reserved nature and untouched so basically they are using eco tourism in their place.

@JudyEv There is a place where they do not allow electric poles to be built along so most of the residents there are using solar power for their electricity needs.

@almostoveryou Been to Bohol 2005. I also like it a very cool place to visit too since they have old churches made from coral reefs and the beach is also very nice too.

@rsa101 I have never been to Palawan. By far, the best island that I've visited is Bohol. I just love the smell of its ocean and air. I want to visit Coron someday with my kids.

Thanks its a feast for the eyes. The place is so green and the sea is just clear and amazing to just watch them. I miss the sea so much that I swim every time I had the opportunity.

It sounds like you had an amazing family trip to Palawan! Exploring the underground river cave with its impressive rock formations and enjoying the beautiful island tour must have been a fantastic experience. Despite the rain, it's great that you were able to go snorkeling and witness the magnificent marine life. The tiring journey was definitely worth it for such memorable moments.

Yes, as suggested by our tour guide the best time would be in Mar-May since the sea is much calmer that period. We have a bit of a rough sea but then it was not that bad and occasional rains while we travel. They say it will get worse in the coming days since it is the rainy season already.
