I love the mountains

Now, that I am living in the city, I always miss the mountains back in my home village. The towering mountains stood as sentinels guarding our small village back then when I was a kid. I'm wishing now, I could go back again and relish the crisp, fresh morning air atop those verdant mountains and just bask in Mother Nature. The picture is of our far-flung small village in the hinterlands of our country. The image is courtesy of a friend on FB. What about you? Do you like your present residence? Do you want to go back to the place where you once lived?

I love the mountains and this is the reason why we retired here. NO I would not go back to the place where we lived before. It was a beautiful place, but here is more peaceful.

One of the places I would like to visit is Switzerland. I love the landscape there and how peaceful it is.

I was born and raised in Manila. Back then our community was relatively okay but now it's like a market full of sidewalk vendors. I wouldn't wish to live there again. We currently live in a provincial city and I rather like it here. But we'll have to move to Pasig come July for husband's new work and the kids' new school. My dream is to someday live in a house near the mountains. I've always loved the smell of trees and soil.

Yes, the smell of trees and soil especially after a rain shower is so refreshing. Good luck with your husband's new work and your transfer of residence. I hope everything would be okay.

@Jenaisle thank you. i have mixed feelings as we haven't moved in 18 years. but we do hard things for our loved ones. the condo is just 5 minutes away from the school and a few friends actually live nearby. we all just need to adjust to living in a small unit and to city life in general.

How I wish I get to experience living close to nature and mountains. I like my place and I'm here for 41 years and will be here for ever. I like it here in my place we are near schools and establishments

I still live in the place where I grow up, I live in a rural area and I love it, honestly, I don't imagine myself living in the city. Hope one day you can go back to your village.

You know, living in our village is such a refreshing experience! The air is so clean and crisp, thanks to the abundance of beautiful trees surrounding us. But you know what? Sometimes, this tranquil environment makes me lose track of what lies ahead. That's when thoughts of staying in town cross my mind. In the town, my mindset tends to shift towards contemplating my next steps for personal growth and progress. It's like a different energy that fuels my motivation.

Yes, I miss the clean air in our village. I know what you're talking about. I left the village to pursue my dreams too, and many others before and after me. So, the village is now populated by the old folks. It's not bad to seek your dreams elsewhere, as long as you don't forget where you came from.

I would cry if I had to go back to the city I grew up in, but then I didn’t grow up in the mountains. If I had, I’d probably want to go back too!

I do want to go back there, but only in the summers. The winters there tend to be very harsh and a lot of snow gets dumped there. It makes driving rough.

Yes, I understand that there are places there with rough winters. It would be difficult if it were that case.

I am perfectly content where we live now. We have 1.25 acres; and it's very quiet here. I would not want to go back to where we've lived before.
