I never have been a very fast typer, even though I have been on the puter for years I still don't think I type more than 40-45 words per minute. I could probably type faster than that but not without making a ton of mistakes. I just don't try to increase my speed. I type fast enough for my purposes. What about you? How fast do you type?

well atleast you still you are not below 30 because in jobs. mostly when the work is computers you need to be atleast 30wpm. but you passed that so its all fine.
I do type atleast 95-100 tho. but when I am copying something I type 85-90

Very speedy. If I typed that fast you probably wouldn't be able to read anything I wrote

I have not been tested officially in a few years, but at my peak I was 100 wpm with 0 errors.
When I was tested for my current job, 5 years ago, I was sitting around 88 wpm with 0 errors.
I have probably regressed since then, especially in the error side of things.

If I typed that fast my typing would look like gobblygook.

I can't even imagine that. I don't think my fingers could go that fast.

The only time I took a timed typing test was ages ago on an IBM Selectric typewriter. I typed 65 words per minute. I have no idea what I type these days.
My mother was a medical transcriptionist for years. She could type 130 wpm when she got going.

@snowy22315 I only found out because my First Sergeant found out I had some typing ability and he was in need of a company clerk, so he sent me to Army Admin Typing School. I was the only combat arms soldier in the class. It actually made the post newspaper when this grunt graduated #1 in the class. My CO dubbed me the first combat typist in the Army.

I am sometimes trying to kill time in here and or relax so I don't see the need to type fast.

@snowy22315 I guess we were kinda trained to do that - constant drilling, repetition, and practice.

@snowy22315 I understand. Sometimes I go through and fix my typos... I get some weird words when I try to type too fast.

I don't know but fast enough, I can write up articles quickly just by typing on the keyboard but looking at the screen,

Yes, you would need a decent keyboard with no sticky letters to type fast.

I remember when I used to sign up with job placement agencies they used to make me take a typing test. I don't remember what my wpm was though.

I can type fast if I am concentrating on it, but I don't feel the need for speed.

I see no reason to set a speed record while typing. I have enough issues

I probably type 80-90 wpm. I haven't been tested in decades; but I know I'm fast. Enjoy your day.

Always the perfectionist I'm the one finger wonder. I type with my thumb on my phone keypad.

I was thinking of that before...that some people can type really fast with two fingers. I am not sure I have heard of thumb typing though.
