They'll Find A Way.

From time immemorial, people have been finding ways to murder or damage each other - from primitive to sophisticated. If guns were not around people will still find numerous ways to dispose of each other. I think the main focus should be trying to change or minimize the murderous mindset of some people. Sounds impossible, but worth a try. As you will read in the link below, not only guns can be used to cause mayhem and death. Pixabay image.

We need more training to spot people with mental health problems, and also training to detect people who are simply ready and willing to harm others, like a genuine psychopath. That is way more than a mental illness. Train teachers, preachers, parents who want to know moreā€¦Police and medical professionals are already trained, of course.

People don't seem too interested in wanting to make a difference until it happens to a close family member of theirs. As you say it isn't always easy to spot those with mental illnesses. Close family members should have some idea though.

When there's a will, there's a way . . . and that's not necessarily a good thing . The world is not in a good state when it comes to mental health these days . . . people definitely need help but are not getting it. I do think things stem from childhood, so perhaps we should start there. But so many grown people are already in this position . . . I'm not sure how we fix this mindset for them.

@Kandae11 I have always thought it all starts from home life. Quite frankly, modern parenting has become so bizarre . . . it's almost like non parenting to me. Seriously, maybe you're right about parenting school . . . they should even be required to have a license .

@much2say That sounds good - A license to parent. In a world where lots of corruption is present they will have to find ways of ensuring that the license is genuine and not bought.

I must admit it is a monumental task. Some parents do not know how to be parents and some are not good role models. Maybe before couples marry or have children, they should be invited to attend parenting school.

The trick is in identifying potential murderers. Many appear quite normal on the outside. Also don't forget everyone is capable of murder under the right circumstances.

Everyone? I suppose it could happen - without the intent of course then it would be manslaughter. Or in self defense. Planning to murder a person or persons, well.....

@Kandae11 Just think about if someone did serious harm to or killed a loved one..and were unremorseful or even smirking about it or something...I can think of circumstances where everyday people would commit murder...Just think about something that would get you to that point.

@snowy22315 l am dealing specifically with those who plan murders whether it is over jealously, a will , life insurance, revenge whatever. I do not have the mindset to kill another human being . I even hate killing my worst creepie crawlie enemy - the centipede

Most who do that have mental issues but it is not easy to detect that

I agree. People will always find ways to kill or harm other people. Tragic event in Seoul, South Korea.

Most murders are related with mental health problems.

And even if you find out that someone is of murderous intent, one cannot predict how a charming person will suddenly kill.

The daily violence that I see happening in the USA and around the world is so disturbing.

This is true. From our early beginnings murder took place even when Cain slew able. We have to try to teach people how to be peaceable and treat others as you would want to be treated.
