A cockatoo on the verandah

We looked after this house and pets just a year ago and I wrote quite a few posts about some of the ornaments and fittings as it’s a very old house. There are a lot of quirky bits and pieces around but I think this is a more recent addition. Their sulphur-crested cockatoo is very special to them and there are hand-towels and tea-towels emblazoned with cockatoo images. This fits in perfectly with their interests. When the wind blows it appears to be flying.

I'd probably spend quite a bit of time just exploring.

@DaddyEvil I would put some up again but it's very difficult here at the moment to get photos to load.

I've checked out lots of areas and taken photos. I did share a lot 12 months ago when we were here.

It's quite realistic and even its 'flight' is like the real thing.

If the winds here weren't so harsh at times I'd love to have something like that here, It's beautiful.

Winds can be strong enough to blow the roofs off sheds at times but I wonder if it's because those roofs were not put up properly

I'm not sure how it would fare if there were really strong winds.

The lady of the house is right into all birds and bird-watching but they do love their Jimmy.

That looks beautiful but I am happy it's not a real cockatoo tied down.

I would like a decoration like that. I have seen some birds that stand in a yArd and appear to flying. They are ornamental of course. I think they are cool.

We had a nice metal duck once that sat on a pole and appeared to fly.

It does look interesting to check it out. I am sure some birdies want to mingle with it. It can attract people and how much more for the birds out there.

Most of the other birds don't come in quite so close but any visitors remark on it.

And it doesn't squawk at you either which is nice, not that Jimmy squawks a lot but he does squawk at times - and very loudly.

When I went to look at it closer, I realised it wasn't the actual thing; when I was just browsing, I thought it was. You appear to be enjoying both house sitting and your accommodations.

@JudyEv Yes but one day I might do a research on taking a full day leave for spending 7 to 8 hours on Mylot, opening 50 odd tabs and just junk eating, drinking tea and coffee. Then may be write a short account of such a day !
