Chemo brain has struck again

I finished Chemo about three months ago (finished radiation three weeks ago) and thought I was almost over chemo brain. It was really bad off and on during chemo treatments, but it was getting better. Less forgetfulness and more able to concentrate. But today it's back with a vengeance. I've been even more clumsy than usual. I banged my hand on the door facing getting the garbage bag out, then slightly stabbed my palm on the corner of my digital photo frame. I tried to do a little sewing, but couldn't figure out how to thread it, so I just quit. I called my friend in MA and when she asked about my upcoming MRI, I couldn't remember why I was having one. She reminded me it was for my foot. How on earth could I forget that! Anyway, this too shall pass. Dale enjoyed his fishing trip this morning and we both just took a nap. Planning to sit out in the shack later, it's a little cooler here today. Hope your day has been clearer headed than mine. But I still have lots to thank God for.

I never realized that chemo did that. I pray that it clears up soon for you.

Thanks, Marie. Chemo can have many long lasting side effects. At the time you're afraid not to take it, but at my age, if cancer ever came back, I'm not sure I would take it again.

I imagine it will take your body and brain time to recover. It was a big deal!

I am sorry Vicki. I know that chemo may have many different side effects, I did not know about this one.

I think the brain fog from chemo is fairly normal, some have it worse than others. Mine's a little better today.

My brother has had radiation and chemo twice and he says he has trouble remembering things. Hopefully this too shall pass.

@LindaOHio I'll go to urgent care if it doesn't get better. I've taken several meds and feel a little better.

I'm sorry you've not been well. You should try a macrobiotic diet.

Yes, my Nana went through that. It did pass, it just took longer than anyone wants these things to take. You have a good sense of humor about it. At least you know it isn’t dementia, and that’s a big thank you Lord!

I hope you get your faculties back together soon. I wound myself here all the time. I attribute it to O.L.D.

That's funny. Have you sold those properties in Montana? I'm glad you're not selling everything.

Give yourself time to recover. One of our dear friends still has side affects from when he had covid back in 2021. It is his memory too.
