I saw the strangest thing today. / myLot

I was out on my daily walking routine and was headed across a parking lot. I saw a pigeon laying on the ground a few feet in front of me. It was laying on its side with its head tucked under a wing. It looked dead from where I was. As I got closer to it, it raised its head, stood up and took off in the opposite direction. Weird.

It was 23°C or 73°F. Fairly hot in the parking lot. lol!

I see many times the doves doing this. The first few times I rushed out to check if they had a problem, now I know that they are only resting.

That would have scared me a bit. It does seem weird, but then maybe the pigeon is trying to sneak in a nap in the middle of the path.

I also have the same feeling when seeing a lot of crows land in front of me on the road while briskly walking during the daytime. Some people claimed that seeing such a thing was an omen. For me, I am thinking it is a sign for us to move on and move to another place, which is happening now.
