Yesterday I had a doctor's appointment. We discussed the various vaccinations available and how many more years I have to endure a mammogram. We went out to eat at Longhorn Steakhouse after the appointment. NASA states that the Earth experienced the hottest average summer temperatures ever recorded. It was 2.1 Fahrenheit warmer than summers between 1951-1980 and .41 degrees hotter than any June, July and August ever recorded. 14-year-old Amir, an American teen, has entered the Guinness World Record for having the largest Afro. It is 7.74 inches tall by 9.77 inches wide and 7.33 feet in circumference. The world needs $2.7 trillion annually for net zero emissions by 2050. Scientists state that we need to limit global average temperatures to a 1.5 degree Celsius increase this century to avoid catastrophic effects from climate change. Breakfast - Protein bar Lunch - Longhorn Steakhouse - Stuffed mushrooms, strawberry pecan salad, bread, chicken tenders, mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts Dessert/Snack - A very decadent piece of Chocolate Stampede Cake from Longhorn Dinner - Leftover strawberry pecan salad What did you eat yesterday? Wow, Amit has a very large Afro. Maybe if he lines up his hair perfectly with the sun it can block the sun’s rays and allow the earth to cool by a few degrees! Just kidding of course, but can you imagine how much care he has to put into maintaining such a head of hair?

@LindaOHio I’m sure they probably want to have an issue with it, but probably don’t say anything about it for fear of a discrimination lawsuit.

Well it was certainly hot and I'm ready for cooler weather. We have made it down to the lower 90's during the day so progress!! Let's see, yesterday I fixed sandwiches for lunch and dinner was pork chops, rice & gravy and brussel sprouts.

We are in the area where the jet stream came down; so it's been nice. In the 60s and 70s. Perfect. I hope you get some cooler weather soon.

I didn't know there was an end date for mamograms. The best thing I had yesterday was that salmon dish I talked about.

@LindaOHio I kind of feel like that now, and I am only 65. I might eat organic or something, but other than that, would probably let nature take its course.

My PCP said you can stop at 80 if you don't feel you would go through having chemo and radiation if you should contract cancer.

@snowy22315 That would probably be a horrible way to die; but so is having chemo!!!

Mammogram is recommended up to the age of 75 here, after that it's up to you to decide. We surely had some hot days in August, but I can tell from my garden that it was not warm long enough for the chili peppers.

Your dinner at Longhorn sounds delicious. At 7.33 feet in circumference, I'm guessing his hair is wider around than he is tall. Why anyone would do that boggles the mind. Good luck getting that amount to avoid climate change. My food yesterday: Breakfast - Banana, eggs, potato, and 1 slice of Ezekiel Raisin Bread. Dinner - Super greens pasta, onion, tuna, shredded cheese. Snack - 1 Dove dark chocolate candy. I kept everything well within the budget.

I read about this being the hottest summer in years. The afro doesn't sound that big really. Climate change is going to be a problem for years to come.

I cannot even imagine trying to function with such a head of hair. Not to mention, wouldn't it be super heavy, and give a person a headache/neckache? It would me! Longhorn steaks are delicious. I like their salmon as well.

CTS for lunch, and I had some canned chicken & dumplings that soured my stomach for dinner. Glad I only got one can of it. I’m sorry, I don’t think they ever measured Billy Preston’s or Roberta Flack’s afro, so I’ll dispute that “largest afro” claim.

That salad and that cake has left me starving. We found a pretty good deal on smoked salmon so yesterday's lunch featured a smoked salmon sandwich. Silly sandwich for a picnic.
