Cranberry Orange Bread to Start the Day

This morning I popped in a Cranberry Orange bread into the oven to bake while I went outside to feed the cats and the chickens. This is a mix that I found at Walmart last year during the Fall. It is a specialty item that they only stock in the Fall and keep through Thanksgiving. It is a really good mix and worth the $2+ for the mix. We enjoy it very much so when I saw that it was back in stock the other day, I picked up a couple of boxes. Hubby enjoyed his this morning along with his coffee. I just had mine with some ice water. I'm threatening a UTI, so wanted to back off on the coffee, even though the kind I drink is only 40% caffeine vs. 100%. Did you have anything special for breakfast this morning?

Cranberry Orange bread sounds delicious, I never tried making one. I had our sweet bread with jam and coffee for breakfast. A cinnamon cookie with our second coffee at mid morning.

I need to make some cinnamon cookies! I just need the weather to cool down a bit to do any more baking! Still in the 90's here during daytime.

@LadyDuck In a few more weeks we will have low 70's and some 60's early in the morning. Right now low to mid 80's.

@kareng I bake in the morning when the temperature is cool. We still have hot hours from 2 to 5 p.m.

I'm not crazy about either cranberries or oranges in food I'm eating. I hope you drink cranberry juice, too. That can help get rid of a UTI.

I have to take cranberry supplements 2 x a day. That gets more into me than the juice.

@DaddyEvil The pills work to stop the infection from going into your bladder. I'm good. They work! And pretty fast!

@kareng Okay but the juice would go straight to your bladder.

Was it a Krusteaz brand? I love their mixes, but I think they are around all year long, so it’s probably not that brand.

Nope it is the Great Value brand. They put them in the middle aisle here when autumn/Fall is close by and they stay there until after Thanksgiving and everything goes to Holiday baking.

@kareng That's impressive. I buy Great Value as often as I can, but I don't think I ever saw those in the store.

I never got used to oatmeal. I think it is the texture of it.

I love quick breads. Haven't made one in a couple of years. If you're getting a UTI, drink cranberry juice. It does wonders. I had a protein bar for breakfast. Have a good day.

I take cranberry supplements, they have more cranberry in them than the juice. Plus, I am avoiding the sugar in the juice.

That may be on my menu tomorrow morning! I don't have to be anywhere before noon tomorrow, but the sooner I leave, the sooner I get back home :)

Oh, that sounds really good. I've never used a box mix for it, just made it from a recipe, but it is very good. Sort of a fall-type thing? But they are good to me, any time. I love muffins.
