Her husband took her to a priest

My Oldest sister was very young when she got married - she was in her teens. Her husband had to take her to a priest to explain to her why it was not wrong - you know what I mean. Those days girls were ignorant and that does not mean I was any better - that some other time. Today I think even a three year old would know that and could teach you a thing or two. Did your husband take you to a priest?

Um, no, but we did have to go to pre-marital counseling with a priest before we got married. But not about that particular subject. My mom had already had that discussion with me many years earlier.

In my country, couples need to undergo seminars before getting married in a church.

I married after 10 years dating my husband, nothing of "that" was new for me (if you know what I mean)and we had to go to seminars before the wedding. We celebrated 18 years of marriage this year.

Congratulations! We too had a retreat that was only for 'to be married' couples. But when my sister got married there was nothing of the sort.

I learned the hard way. My first husband was 20 years older than me and I married him because my mom back in NYC where we lived wanted me to marry a Latvian. The second time round was no problem because mom and I moved to Latvia and then I got lucky and met my true soul mate,
