Lemon Balm

I have several clumps of this growing now. It starts in new places because of seed but it also comes back up from the roots.
I have always wanted to have an aroma therapy type yard.
Right now I have two kinds of mint, and lemon balm and Citronella geranium. Sage, tarragon and rosemary. Oh, also lavender. The lemon balm and the geranium are supposed to keep mosquitos away, but they are sure out there this evening.
I was going to lay down for a nap, but could not sleep due to a mosquito bite on my pinky finger. You would think they could find a tastier place to taste. It did feel good to stretch out.
We drank coffee flavored protein shakes then ate hot dogs with kraut for our evening meal.
Bruno is stretched across the front of my desk. He is using my phone as a pillow and hanging his rear feet off the front of my desk so he can help with the keyboard.Blame all typing errors on him.
This is the night I call my daughter. I will leave you for now.

It seems to do well no matter where you put it! Partial sunlight is probably best.

Lemon balm keeps popping up all over the place in my yard, and I haven't been bothered by mosquitoes at all, so it must be doing its job.

That is such a benefit. This has been a good year for the lemon balm. I need to spread mine even more.

@GardenGerty Does it have a scent when it is growing? Is it the same as Lemon Verbena?

I had lemon balm in a pot for a few years. That Christmas storm last winter killed it out. I still have my mint and lavender. They are in the ground

My experience with lavender gets iffy. I have some that has been in place for three or more years now. The lavender I had in a planter did not make it.

Bruno is a good big boy. He will be good to cuddle this winter.

It is rather shaggy looking right now, but the different herbs are very soothing.

I haven't heard of lemon balm. I may have to try some lemon balm tea.

It is a mint relative, but not minty at all.

It is a cousin of mint, so it has that growth habit. Citrus smelling herbs do help with mosquitoes and other pests. Lemon grass is good as well but it does not winter out where I live and I lost mine this year.

Great use for the lavender. I thought I had lost mine, but it did come back.

I spend a fair amount of time digging up lemon balm from places it isn't supposed to be. It does make a nice "tea".

I pretty much have a wildscape here. It is very soothing as a tea.
