Woke Up a Little Early Today

.. since my partner's sister is coming today. I needed to clean the house and feed the dogs, including the labrador I'd been caring for for nearly two weeks. I made oatmeal and pancakes for breakfast. It's hot and humid today, so I'll probably stay in my room till 2 or 3 p.m. before going downstairs to do some supermarket shopping. I'm thinking of getting a Swedish massage because my back has been hurting for a week. After that, I'll go get some treats for my pets. We'll leave Manila on Tuesday rather than Wednesday because I needed to run some errands first. I'm already tired just knowing I have to clean my apartment when I come home. Molds are almost certainly present because the floor has occasionally been wet. I have no idea where the moisture came from. In addition, I had to pay the rent and go to the wet market to purchase fish, poultry, beef, and veggies. Haha. How is your weekend so far?

Apartment complexes in general tend to be built on the lowest budget possible. So it doesn't take long for moisture to worm its way in. Yuck. But sounds like you had a good day.

Yes, that is the reason why. It is built in low materials.

@kaylachan Yes the contractors and / or the workers often neglect proper damp proofing at some places. So we have seepage and moisture issues after a few years of the construction. It is a headache for both tenants or the owners. Plus it can even be a cause of arguments between Tenant and the owner.

That's a lot of work. Molds usually happen during the rainy season and if the house isn't properly lit or ventilated. Swedish massage sounds good. It's my favorite kind of massage. Weekend's been quiet and steady so far. Staying home on a Saturday and will be out to watch a play tomorrow at Greenbelt 1.

@freelancermariagrace Last massage was probably 2 or 3 months ago. I haven't found a new massage therapist since we moved to Pasig, but I'm eager to try a salon nearby that's about to open soon. We did enjoy the play. My daughter especially liked it because it's about Snow White. Hope your weekend was good. :)

@almostoveryou Yay. Sounds interesting. I hope you will be able to try the salon that is about to open real soon. Have fun, okay? And glad you enjoyed the play! It's been a long time since I watched a play. The last play I watched was Miss Saigon.

Yes, maybe that is one of the reasons why there are molds on the floor. When was the last time you had a Swedish massage? I hope you enjoyed the play, Macy :)

That is a lot of work for you. I hope that your Partner's sister feels at home ! Apartments do need some maintenance from time to time. We have some seepage issues at our place as well. I have the fan cleaning to do. Our fans tend to get dirty with exhaust, fumes and dust quite rapidly. It is perhaps because of the way the rooms are spread out. It wasn't the case in our previous place.

@freelancermariagrace I have to clean every months. Seems like the fumes from Chimney plus dust get together and form a thick layer on the fans. If is a peculiarity that I have faced in the current house only.

Yes, but I was able to finish everything on time. And yes, apartments need to be maintained regularly. It has been my problem for a couple of months now. How often do you clean your fans?

Partner? As in boyfriend or husband? I need to know details! haha I woke up very early this morning too, well before the sun came up. I had planned on sleeping late, but I guess my internal body clock had other plans. Everyone else in the house is still asleep, so I've been trying to be quiet by spending time on the computer. In a few minutes I am going to cook breakfast for everyone. I know the smells drifting out of the kitchen will wake everyone up! I hope you have a great day!

@freelancermariagrace So you're single? Hmmm.... I woke up around 5:30am. That is the normal time I wake up for work during the weekdays, but on weekends I usually will sleep in much later. Sometimes as late as 11:00am. So it's very unusual that I wake up so early on a Saturday. For breakfast that morning, I cooked eggs, bacon, sausage, grits, hash browns, waffles and cinnamon rolls. Normally, I will just eat a bowl of cereal in the morning before work, but on weekends I will often cook a hearty breakfast.

@moffittjc I am in a relationship. That is quite early. I normally get up about 6 or 7 a.m. And your breakfast sounds great! I haven't had hash browns in a long time.

Haha. I am not married and have no plans to get married. When did you wake up? What did you make for breakfast? I don't have breakfast very often. Normally, I only eat lunch and dinner. Have a wonderful weekend!

Do you have an effective way to get rid of mold? I imagine it would be hard to do in your climate.
