The Tires From Hell

In June, I bought 4 new Michelin tires for my Outback. I paid over $800. So far I have had to go back to BJs twice because my tires are loosing air. I spent over an hour there yesterday while they replaced all 4 stems. One stem had already been replaced by them. I usually buy my tires at Town Fair and I have never had a problem. These I have had problems with ever since I ordered them. They didn't come in when they said they would. I love BJs for many things but I would never, ever buy tires there again. I only did this time because there isn't a Town Fair tires near my daughter's house. They want me to come back next week to check the lug nuts. Oh wonderful, did they not put them back on correctly??? This has been a nightmare for day one. I do like the tires though, very good in the rain.

That would be annoying and inconvenient to say the least. .I hope they get fixed once and for all at some stage.

My girlfriend went through this recently with her Buick. After a few months of back and forth, she got very firm and demanded new tires. So far, so good.

Me too, I guess I have to give it a week or two to see if they lose air again.

@noni1959 The tires themselves are amazing it is the installation that is faulty. lol

tires have been a real problem over the last year or so. I started sticking with the brands I know, it costs a bit more but less air loss. they are all expensive and most have to be back ordered these days. it stinks

I love the tires but the installation issues are ridiculous.

Maybe it is a technician problem, not necessarily a tire problem.

That’s a shame that they have been so troublesome.

What a bummer. I've only dealt with Discount Tire and then only bought the cheapest, I can't afford Michelin, and I've never had problems with them and rarely with the tires.

That is too bad, hopefully you will find it worth the drive to go to the other place. Here they typically ask you to come in to retorque your lug nuts within 1,000 km of having the tires changed out.

I agree that this is a real nightmare. Tires are expensive, we order through our garage, they are responsible if something goes wrong.

Ugh...I have bought tires once or twice at Costco, but not BJ's. I guess I won't buy from there.
