The photo is of our campsite here at Magnolia Lane. The campground has only been in operation a little over a year and is still a bit rough around the edges. Many of the sites are not as level as perhaps they ought to be at a campground catering to larger rigs like ours.
This place is out in the boonies, that's for sure. The town of Pollocksville may only be two miles away, but it is a small town still recovering from the devastation that overtook it from Hurricane Matthew many years ago. The nearest cities of note are New Bern and Jacksonville, 30 minutes north or south respectively.
The remote location makes for a mostly quiet environment, except when the big helicopters from Camp Geiger Marine Corps Air Station fly close by. I always enjoy seeing those choppers and thinking of a good friend from high school who became a Marine Corps officer, helicopter pilot, and once commanded Camp Geiger.
K made dinner in camp tonight, delicious Philly-style chicken cheesesteak sandwiches she prepared on the griddle side of the grill.
Tomorrow is supposed to be a beautiful day. We plan on driving to visit my mother. She lives about 30 minutes from here. We're going to stop at her favorite Italian restaurant and pick up lunch on the way.
I hope you all had a good Friday. What are your plans for tomorrow?

@DevMrSamEleazar Our RV is a 5th-wheel camper that we pull behind our pickup truck. Once we get to the campground and are all set up, yes, it feels very much like home to us. We often stay a week or more at a campground and are never in a hurry to leave and go back to our house.

Enjoy your camping and visit with your mom!
As for me, I’m not planning on much other than lunch.

@FourWalls Fer shame, fer shame (with a nod to Jim Nabors as Gomer Pyle). Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. What are you trying to do? Put the bagel and English muffin people out of business.

I hope you enjoy visiting with your mom tomorrow... Your dinner tonight sounds delicious...
We had storms off and on all day today but the temp stayed nice at 71F. The forecast is for more rain... 90% chance of storms and we'll start getting cold. Below freezing Sunday night with a high of 45F during the daytime. I'll finally have to put on long pants, a shirt and real shoes. *sigh*

Our highs are expected to stay in the low 80s through Monday and crash into the 50s on Tuesday when that cold front reaches us. Cold weather just in time for all those little trick-or-treaters to be running around in their costumes. Glad I get to stay inside watching TV.

@DWDavis No trick or treaters here... our city passed an ordinance banning it after a kid got a poisoned piece of candy when Pretty was in college.

You have great weather for camping for sure. Hopefully go to the mountains either tomorrow or Sunday. There is a bookstore I want to check out in Scottville Virginia too.

I just plan to tidy up odds and ends, make some casseroles, and stay inside since we have a bit of cold rain right now.

Sounds like you guys are having a good time. I hope you had a safe and pleasant trip to see your mother. We are going to watch a couple of movies tonight and also watch the Fantasy Fest festivities via webcam in Key West. Have a good weekend.
