What Is New With Everyone?

Thought it was time to check in with everyone. Life has been very busy offline lately. I am happy to report that Brendel is about the same. Most nights I am successful at hiding her meds (Gabapentin) in her food. She had a reaction to her appetite meds and I had to stop them for a week. She is back on them now and I can tell a difference. So cool, the cream goes in the top of her ear (pinna). Very easy.
Now with the cooler weather (although the next few days will be back in the 80’s again), she has started with her bronchitis and coughing again. Nothing can be done about that. She enjoys her heating pad and chicken popsicles more than anything it seems. Have not taken her to see the vet for new labs lately. I am monitoring her symptoms and watching her every move. I have talked to the vet a few times and she has told me what to watch out for.
Keeping her as comfortable as possible. She is a fighter. The Dude is a sweet little brother. He is always checking on her.
Funny, the bed in the photo above was bought for him. He likes getting under the cover. She stays on top of the cover. And she didn’t stay here long. Just letting him know it is her bed too I suppose. They both enjoy the fireplace as well.
Her official bed is beside mine. A quilt and heating pad in a chair is where she stays all night. I have not seen a decline with her. She eats most of her food and is drinking and using the litter box. She is sleeping more than usual. Until I see a decline, I will keep doing what I am doing.
I try to rest some during the day to catch up on lost sleep through the night. Keeps my stress level down a bit. A day at a time is my motto. Enjoying the time I have with her. Sorry I have not replied in awhile. My babies come first. Hope you are all doing fine.

And you as well Judy. Always enjoy your posts and photos. Each day is a challenge for sure. She is a little fighter. Yes we will miss her. Dude is right there for her now. If she starts breathing funny, he is there as is to say, it is ok.

I was wondering about you and the kitties. I am glad to hear that Brendel is still comfortable. You are an awesome pet-mama. Enjoy the warmer days and catch a few rays of sunshine. Glad that you posted, hang in there!

@MarieCoyle That is so true Marie. She is my baby. We have sunshine today, looks like the rain is nowhere around unfortunately. Leaves are falling here too. Have a good week.

When a creature is special to us, we do all we can to make them happy.
We had a lot of rain last week. One day, a bit of snow, but it didn't last long. Still have some pretty trees to enjoy, but the leaves are falling quickly now.

Hello Carol, last night I was thinking to you and to your fur babies and I was concerned not having news. I am so glad I found this post. I am glad that Brendel is fine, not fully well, but comfortable and happy and his big brother The Dude is with her all the time. Try to rest when you can, I know you love every minute you spend with her.

My husband is fine now, his short memory problem is worsening, but physically he is not too bad, that is a relief for both of us.

Hi Anna, So good to see you. I have missed our talks so much. I can share my email through messaging if you would like. I cannot be on here much now, she is my priority. And I am trying to take care of myself as well. Stress can take such a toll on us. Dude is my therapy cat, he truly is. Such a trooper is what I call him. Thanks for the support as always. There he is. Good to see you Ron. She is doing her best. Some difficult times. She would go days without eating. I am having a time hiding her meds. Cats are such a challenge. But we keep going a day at a time. Sometimes they are both on my bed on the cool nights. Hope you are well and still cycling out and about.

@CarolDM Pets are always our babies. We have to care for them constantly. I sometimes have a very tuff time with my pet dog Kittu.

Glad to hear Brendel's health is stable. The best thing is to keep her comfortable and it sounds like you're doing an excellent job with that. I'm sure the fireplace makes it nice and cozy for her.

Just glad to see you back. I REALLY missed you here. Hopefully you can find some time for us. But it is fully understood if you can't. Life comes before myLot of course, and I refuse to be selfish just because I happen to like you around so much.

Thanks and good to see you as well. I am working my way back. My cat has taken all of my time. And when you lose sleep you just don't feel like interacting. I am hoping for better days soon. How kind of you to say. Take care of yourself and I will see you soon hopefully.

No problems at all with my head, thank goodness. I was diagnosed with costochondritis right after Brendel's health started deteriorating. Just more pain to deal with and my focus is not good due to lack of sleep and rest. So draining taking care of a sick baby. It will all get resolved in time. Thanks for the concern.
