What is the difference between a light brown hair dye and light ash brown?

Does anyone know the answer? Once someone told me ash hides the red? Is that true? Thanks in advance!!!

Look at your fireplace...ashes are gray. I would not like ash brown, it looks dirty.

yeah ash is cool and warm is golden, and the others are neutral. you have to be careful not to put ash directly over a warm color, because it can turn green or gray. using a neutral is the safest bet.

i guess it depends on the stuff in your hair too because i have found out that i can not use any ash colour because it seems to turn my hair green and thats not pretty
