George keeps trying to die on me...

...but, is still fighting back even harder.
Strokes are hard. It's been one hell of a roller coaster. I've learned to sleep on a hard couch with a couple of blankets and fully dressed. I dread going to my house, because I am scared of what I'll come back to. When he says things like 'I'm going home tomorrow', I get a sick feeling I'll lose him. Because something happens. Like him going into Afib, but then he kicks himself out of it. As if to say, he's not ready to pass just yet and he's continuing to fight. I want to hold out hope, he'll make a full recovery, but I'm starting to doubt.

He is a fighter and he knows you need and love him Kayla. If anything, that will keep him alive.

So far it's working. I know he isn't ready to go, otherwise he would've years ago when he had that asthma attack.

He's doing great so far. He struggled to eat this morning, but he's doing a little better.

@kaylachan A very simple thing like eating is a hard task for those who suffered of a stroke. He is doing well.

When one is uncomfortable or in pain or can't do the things that make life worth living, I am sure sometimes they may simply decide, this isn't worth it. But he knows you love him and need him, and so long as he is constantly reminded of that, it will give him a reason to keep fighting.
I know it's tough. But hang in there. Better days will come. I am sure of it. And this time will only make the both of you stronger.

I know it will. It wasn't easy to watch. Now, it's like it never happened.

I know this all has to be so stressful. I've done the ''sleep on the couch in my clothes'' more times than I can say through my son's illness when he was really doing terribly, and it's not very restful. I know that around here, when someone has a stroke who isn't fully recovered, once they are out of danger they usually get sent to a rehab. But if you don't want him in a rehab and they suggest it, you may be able to get the therapist to come to your home instead--I know people here who have done that.
I just hope and pray he does well and is soon back to himself in thinking and actions. Rest whenever you get the chance, Kayla.

During the day, he does real well. At night he tends to not do as well, which is why I spend the night. I can also talk and discuss care with the doctors.

Well, no one knows him like I do. And, his sister hasn't seen him in so long, she wouldn't know what to look for. She'd have some basic idea, but it has to be me.

My next door neighbor has been carting me back and forth to my house and back to care for Chilly.

@kaylachan Doctors can only guess. When my lymphona was discovered (stage 4) I asked the oncologist what were the odds. She gave me a list of 10 things that would cauyse me to die sooner. Of those, I had 9. And here I am, over 10 years later, with a lymphoma in complete remission. She said that there was no cure for it. But I don´t care about the words. Here I am.

I think it still sounds optimistic. My husband is in AFIB off and on all the time. I hope George continues to improve. You have a lot of people praying and thinking of you two.

I will keep on praying and I am sending you much hope and blessings. Just hang in there and be glad you can be with him. I so hated the fact that I never saw my husband again but then everything happened to me in one day,

Given the fact he kicked himself out of it, I think he will.
