Hello everyone, hope you are all having a great weekend!
This brings me to the thought, how many of you like to shop at thrift stores?
I am thinking of doing this more, I have only really been to a few thrift stores, maybe once or twice, but I can see the fun in it, and of course saving money, etc.
Also, any tips for shopping at stores like this? Thank you, in advance

There is on thrift store not far from me that is just so nice--very, very clean store and everything is organized and displayed nicely. It is run by all the local churches together. The prices are extremely reasonable, and they get nice clothing and items. I donate my items there that are no longer needed. They also help people who have had fires, or give clothing to homeless people when needed.
I can get name brand items, clothing, etc, for mere pennies on the dollar. Anything electric has been tested. They are very nice to all, and I will support them as long as I can.

A friend wanted a breadmaker and got one there in 2020 when the pandemic started. Top of the line model, barely used, new would have been about $150. But she paid $3. There are still bargains to be found, but we often have to search hard for them!

To a certain extent .but I find the ones run by churches to be the best. Not terribly impressed by the prices at Goodwill.

I have been told to go to thrift stores in the "best" parts of town because they have nicer donations. It has been quite awhile since I have been to the thrift store, but growing up, my mom could find some mighty good deals. Recently, one Mylotter found a vest at a thrift store, and sold it online for a profit of $100. I'm not familiar with the popular labels, but she was, and she makes some good money doing this. I only ever went to just find some clothes to wear.

I use to love doing it. But during the pandemic I gave it up. It helps to know someone who works there.

I used to but not anymore. Here the thrift stores are full of bugs and dust.

Yes, I love thrift stores. You never know what little treasure you can find in good thrift shops for a very affordable price.

I "thrift" often and get some really good deals. I can't tell you the last time I ever, for example, bought a new pair of jeans. I won't buy tee shirts at thrift stores simply because, well, they're cheap enough and I usually get tee shirts from places I visit.
Things I will not buy at a thrift store. Socks, underwear, pajama pants, hats, shoes etc. But pants? Yep. Button down shirts? Yep. Certain sweaters or jackets? Yep.
I will also sometimes buy pots or pans (if they are in good condition). Bought a popcorn kettle once that sells in stores for $40 for $3. Got an Oxo salad spinner which are typically $40-$50 in stores for $8. I like the "junk" area, as I call it.
You can usually find some pretty good deals and save a ton of money while doing it.
