Did you ever wonder how "piggy bank"start its popularity? In the past, western people in Europe save their money using "pygg"clay jars, which is enunciated as "pug." As the years go by, people in the UK started to pronounce it as "pig." Then, pottery makers started to shaped their crafts as pigs, which they think it was a fun idea.

I used piggy banks until around 4 years ago. I had a collection of them on a table in my living room until burglars entered my house and took them all with the coins inside.

@Shavkat The city where I live is now very dangerous. Most of the things the burglars stole from my house had more emotional value than real value.

I used to use one made from LEGO bricks, not the set, but a custom design from an AFOL in Germany. It held quite a lot of coins, which we banked when we moved town. Have not used one since.
