Do you remember from childhood?

How many of you remember Warheads, that sour candy that made your face contort as a child? I remember my friends and I would have contests to see who could keep them in our mouth the longest. Of course, there was always one kid who genuinely loved the taste, and happily ate them.
On vacation, my friend and I went to an unfamiliar grocery store, and found these Warhead sodas. I picked one up for my nieces and nephew. Too much sugar? Yes, but I don’t expect them to drink the entire thing. I expect them to get super excited to try something so sour, sip it, then laugh at the sour taste. We had fun with ridiculous treats like these as children.
If you didn’t have Warheads, what was your version of something similar? Was there anything?

Warheads were around when my son was a kid..but my generation liked those red hots. The hot cinnamon balls. You can still find them sometimes today. They were really pretty hot. I don't remember having any contests with them though.

@snowy22315 Yeah, I was thinking you were talking about Atomic Fireballs.

@AmbiePam Thanks, actually the red hots are something else. They were called Atomic Fire balls. You can still find them in some places. I sometimes buy those if I see them and or Sugar Daddy's for nostalgia.

I know Warheads, but I don't think they were in my childhood (maybe a bit later?). Maybe our sour candy was Lemonheads - and I don't think any kid would think would they were that sour now. I think our candy fascination was with Pop Rocks .

That doesn't ring any bells in my memory.
Not even anything that I would have bought for our son.
Maybe it isn't carried here in our country.
Back in the day there was a small place, called the Pop Shoppe in the town near where we lived.
They only sold glass bottles, when the rest of the big pop companies were going to tins and plastic.
I used to love the black cherry cola.
I recently found some of that and bought a single bottle of it. I was really disgusted as it tasted like carbonized sugar water with cherry taste. I have lost my taste for pop I'm afraid.

I don’t recall them. We ate lemon wedges and dill pickles. I can’t think of any real sour candy.

I vaguely remember my kids having Warheads. Since my kids liked sweet things I doubt Warheads were something they bought often.

@AmbiePam I don't doubt it. At least my kids didn't get me to eat them but they certainly pulled other pranks

I am too old for Warheads and to my knowledge my kids did not buy them or like them. I was more likely to buy Firestix. A hard candy slab about 2 x 6 x 1/4 inches, full of hot cinnamon flavor. Could also get them as a candy like Jolly Ranchers only cinnamon.

I remember eating warheads. I still sometimes eat them but only when my kids want it. My oldest a few weeks ago had sliva stones so she had to eat or suck on a lot of sour stuff so I got war heads knowing they are sour as hell. It did the trick although it was powered warheads, not the hard candy. Lemon heads I've had as well as my kids. My kids tend to like atomic waste.

I think I remember a War Heads hard candy. I didn't know that it was a soda.

I ate a lot of different candy but never Warheads. My favorite sour stuff was those Pixie sticks with powder in them, BTW I sent you a PM on here,

There was a candy we used to buy called LIK-M-AID. It featured flavored powders and a sweet candy stick for dipping. Pure sugar and the powders came in different fruity flavors, such as cherry, grape, and orange.

I never liked sour stuff, not sure why. Those Warhead things are...nasty! You can have my share!

Oh no, don’t give them to me! The novelty of trying them was fun, but I don’t think I ever finished one. It was just so entertaining as a kid, to get a fun loving adult to try one, and then see their expression. It’s amazing what kids think is fun!

I never thought of getting an adult to try one. But yes, I can see that might be a lot of fun!

You're making me feel old. I remember warheads, even though I never had any that I can recall.

We don't have that from where I am from. I think the closest we have is Royal True Orange. It is not sour but it is tangy.

I don't remember anything like Warheads. We had a lot of penny candy. Have a good day.

I do remember them, not sure I ever had them. I wasn't the biggest fan of sour things. My son did try one of these drinks, they have them at our local grocery store.
