26 April - What I'm Thankful for Today

Good evening from rainy Green Bay, Wisconsin, USA. They promised rain, and it just started. We'll have more through the weekend.
Today has been good. I got everything done except work on the next country, Australia. My time has run out on the computer.
I'm thankful I spent time here a couple times today and finished the notifications twice. I always enjoy seeing what you're doing in your part of the world.
I'm thankful my brain worked with me today. Sometimes it takes time to remember things. Today, I remembered the 'replace all' button at the top of my screen. I took care of most of my contractions today with the click of a button. In the Hands of Mighty Men got done a lot faster today than in the past couple of days. Yea Brain!
I'm thankful I have all my steps. I went out right after I got off the computer this morning and walked through the building.
I'm thankful it's Friday, and I had nothing more important to do than to be here with you and working on my book.
I'm thankful I wore the shirt I did today. It's my Washington Island hoodie. While walking the halls, I saw some new neighbors, they've been here less than six months, who own a home on Washington Island and grew up there. They told me the next time I go there with my friend to let them know and we can visit them. Totally awesome! I love Washington Island, an island at the top of the arm of Wisconsin when you look at the Wisconsin map. There are a couple of islands only accessible by ferry. I'll find a picture from one of my visits to the island a few years ago.
I'm thankful for the Excel program for tracking my weight and macros. I'm paying close attention to the sugar. Though I don't add sugar to anything, some foods are high in it. If I'm going to lose weight, I need to be aware of what those foods are and limit them. The allowance per day is less than 47 grams. Today I easily kept it low. Though at the moment my calories for the day are also way low. I'll get this figured out and lose the weight I need.
Okay, that's my day. It's been good. What are you thankful for today? Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. It's a schoolhouse museum on Washington Island.

@AmbiePam No, I'm not giving up bananas. If I limit them to one a day, which I usually do, it's all good. What I will give up is all my high fiber cereal and go back to the alternative milk. Milk is also high in sugar. The alternatives I can get sugar free. I'll need to get creative to get the fiber I need.
I'm glad no one was hurt in the tornadoes yesterday morning.

@MarieCoyle Yes, they're scary. I'm glad the lightning bolt didn't kill him.

The tornadoes can be scary, and a person cannot really predict the exact place they may or may not hit. I am thankful for your tornado not hurting anyone, either. Our last one didn't hurt anyone. But oddly the next day was just very cloudy. No rain, no thunder, no lightning...so we thought. A local farmer was hit by one single bolt of lightning when he was opening his barn door! He didn't die but had to go to the ER. No lightning strikes were seen on radar except...ONE. The one that zapped his door! How weird is that??

Scripture tells us to sow seeds and nurture then so that they may grow abundantly. I've been praying for the right time and place to sow seeds. Earlier this week, a young co-worker of mine was in the break room at work crying. Her bank account was hacked and all her money taken. She's working with her bank to get the situation fixed, but she had her car payment and several other bills due this week, and didn't have the money to pay them. I just knew that I needed to give her money to help her out. I don't know this girl very well, and don't know if she'll ever pay me back, but I felt compelled to give her a substantial amount of money to pay her bills and hold her over until she gets everything fixed with her bank. Will I ever get that money back? I have no idea, but I don't care, I'm at peace with the decision I made. I am thankful that God gave me an opportunity to sow some seeds and be merciful to another human being.

@just4him I really need that money, but I felt that she needed it much more than I did. But like I said, I'm at peace with my decision. She's looking at it as a loan that she promises to pay back, but I am approaching it as a gift to her. If she pays me back, that's great, but if she doesn't, I'm okay with that as well.

That's good to hear how your day went, and that it was good.
Some things do have a lot of sugar added. And just because there is no sugar added doesn't mean things are sugar free either. Just what I noticed in reading all the food labels myself and having to count carbs/sugar.

@just4him It is easy to go over, I get that...sugar is in almost everything! Maybe not veggies or meat. But not much else

I got a statement from Cleveland Clinic. It was for $80,000 and $210,000 for a total of $290,000. I'm thankful our portion was only $2,530. Thank goodness for insurance. Have a good weekend.

That's a beautiful schoolhouse museum. Did you say you have to work on something about Australia? That's cool.
