7 cows are missing...cattle rustlers?

So in the next door for the neighborhoods in this general vicinity someone wrote they were missing 7 cows and described them. I guess maybe the pasture gate got open somehow, but I would think it would be unlikely they would go too far from the farm. I am thinking more like someone stole them. Of course, cows are usually in the barn at night..at least dairy cows are, which I think these were. Isn't that weird? I sure hope they get their cows back!

That or a hole in fencing somewhere. That is quite a few to wander away. Hope they find them!

I sure hope so. That would be very upsetting for the people.

Sheep-stealing was pretty common when we lived in the Donnybrook area. I don't think too many cattle were stolen.

They may have just gotten out and scattered..but I would think they would be pretty easy to find.

@snowy22315 If they had an option, they'd mostly stay together pretty much so yes, they'd be a bit hard to miss on a road or whatever.

When I was a kid, our cows were outside most of the time. You would think somebody near would have noticed unless they thought it was just the butchers truck.

My grandparents always put theirs in the barn at night. Neighbors could have thought it was legit, or maybe they did just wander off...which makes me think they would come back when they were hungry or needed to be milked.

I also hope that the cows are found and returned safely to their owners.

I sure hope they get them back. They would be out alot of money. Plus they liked the cows..they were pets of a sort.

The thief would have come prepared with transport for the cows. So it would have been planned.

Yes, and I wouldn't think it would be too likely to happen during the day unless the farmers weren't home then..possible..

Maybe they got called to testify at Trumps trial? Or they decided to take a vacation out here in California at Lake Nacimiento. People don't give cows too much credit for brains, and they do get bored and wander off. My Mom had some as a kid and they would get loose and visit the neighbor's farms. Of course it didn't help that she taught one of the cows how to pick men's back pockets. More wallets landed in fresh manure from that cow
