Just Popped It Out of the Oven

I love the smell of fresh baked bread! I have been baking bread since the bio-engineered ingredients have popped up on most of our food. When it showed up in bread, I stopped buying it. This loaf came out pretty! It rises well and only takes 20 minutes to bake. The best part is I don't have to have a starter or mix up ingredients. I found some frozen loaves at our local grocery that does not have bio-engineered ingredients in it. And it is cheaper than buying a loaf of bread! Win! What are your thoughts on having bio-engineered ingredients in all your food now? Photo Credit: My Own

I've been baking our bread for a long time now, it tastes better, it's cheaper, and I know what's in it! I try hard to feed us healthy foods.

That is an understatement feeding our families healthy food. It's becoming harder and harder with things like this going on, inflation, etc. And it is going to get worse! Better to get prepared!

@kareng I agree, people do need to think ahead if at all possible. Inflation is all over the world, and so many are without foods. I refuse to waste food.

I hope that works out for you. I've never used frozen bread loaves. I should get back to baking bread.

It's easy, just take out to thaw and let it rise. I leave mine out for 5-6 hours and then bake for 20 minutes!

My grandmother used to bake about six loaves of bread each week along with some biscuits. They smelled so good. My uncle would just happen to come for a visit and Grandma would fix him a nice thick piece with butter and honey. Those were the days.

This looks soft. I think bio engineered ingredients make easier and less time consuming while baking.

Wow! I just took freshly baked bread out of the oven too. I do my own baking these days - from start to finish. That way l know exactly what the ingredients are.

That's awesome! I plan to continue with this bread until bio-engineered pops on the label and then I'll bake from scratch.

It's pretty amazing that if you call and ask what's in it they won't tell you. No thank you. I don't want to put any crap that I have no clue what's in it in my body.

I love fresh baked bread. BUT... I like to get my hands in the dough and mix it myself. It's been a couple of years since I did that. I never thought about bio-engineered ingredients in my food. I guess the best food is the food you grow yourself. I don't have that option. Not because we don't have gardens. There's a raised garden here for people to use. But the problem is I don't have a green thumb. Nothing grows for me. No matter what I try. I told my friend I planted daffodils, and nothing was coming up. She 'planted' daffodils in my planter. They're fake.

I am going to look for a good recipe and possibly a starter for the winter. I'm looking forward to some homemade biscuits! At least you don't have to panic and worry about forgetting to water the daisies!!

I don't do any baking hubby does all that, & since I have T-2 Diabetes I try to stay away from all that starchy stuff, but I do eat SOME just not very much of it, cause I'm trying to keep my weight down to a 150-60 lbs.

Have to watch it here too as my hubby also has T-2 diabetes. He is a bread lover so I have to watch how much he eats to keep track because he doesn't.

I don't know how big that loaf is but if it is as big as the palm of a kid's hand, then we call that here "pandesal". That's a pretty loaf. I love eating bread after dipping them in chocolate milk, hot cocoa or coke.

Nothing is better than the aroma of freshly baked bread. That's a good idea to buy frozen and then bake. Lately I've been reading more and more ingredients on labels.

I just happened to look at it since all the other bread that is $3-$5 a loaf now has bio-engineered ingredients in them. I'll take it over the bio-engineered!! We all should be reading labels. It's getting scary.
