Not There Yesterday!

While flowers aren’t popping up all over, it was nice to see some poppies making an appearance. There are four blossoming at the moment. No sign of the brilliant yellow of the California Poppies, but with the red ones showing up I am hopeful I may soon see those golden blooms!

I rather like poppies, they look to me as if they are made from tissue paper

In my country, I have not seen them. It would be great if we have them in the garden.

That's interesting, I thought poppies grew all over the world. Learn something new everyday!

I liked your title. I don't know how many times I've been surprised to suddenly see flowers when I'd missed the buds.

There were four yesterday and this morning there are eight, plus a few other small flower heads look to be ready to bloom

Under a Philippine law possession of opium and it's derivatives like seeds and flowers is prohibited even for decorative or culinary purpose. But the climate is suitable for it's growing. Law enforcers once raided a farm in a mountainous area found planting it.

I did wonder about that, but I remember reading that a variety of white poppies are the opium producing ones. Don't think I've any of those!

@Ronrybs ~All poppies contain certain amount of narcotics. Although the opium producing ones have the highest concentration.

Had some more red poppies bloom, but I guess I have over crowded the golden ones, not a glint yet

So far, not a golden one to be seen. At one point there were 20 poppies, now only one just blooming after the rain did for the others
