The Cashier

United States
July 13, 2024 9:15pm CST
This morning when I went to Walmart, the cashier was a long time friend of mine. Her Mother and I worked together years ago. Well, she was sick and coughing with a headache. She said she didn't work yesterday, and was going to leave early, because she was still sick. I was thinking to myself I sure hope it's not covid, she has four kids and really don't need to get sick. I sure hope it's just a summer cold, but covid is spreading in my area.

You would have thought they’d have required her to do a Covid test, but then again, Walmart might be more lenient. Hopefully, she knows for sure the signs, and she really just has a cold.

I'm also hoping you didn't catch whatever she has. Covid is still pretty prevalent here too.

You would think that she would take the test on her own, but yes, the company should require it when someone comes in to work with obvious symptoms. Hope she doesn't have it.

Uh Oh. One time I went to DG and the cashier was obviously sick. She shouldn't have been there either, but maybe they don't give sick leave there. I don't know.

@popciclecold Some employees get mad if you miss to much work.

@jstory07 I think Walmart is like that because they are short of help.

You can get sick at any time and at any place. Hopefully this blows over so she can work.

I am also hoping that your friend who is ill does not have COVID. Most likely it is the combination of heat and cold weather.

I sure hope you don't get sick. Our housekeeper was over on Monday and was supposed to come back on Tuesday. Tuesday she called and said her whole family was sick, including her. So far I'm OK. Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

In some countries they are now treating covid as if it is a common cold and neglect enforcing sanitary habits like during the epidemic.
