My personal bugbear

One thing that particularly annoys and upsets me is getting up in the morning and being faced with all the detritus of the night before. I like a fresh start each morning, and I really hate it if I go into the kitchen and find myself faced with piles of dirty dishes. It is particularly vexing for me because I’m almost always the first one up!
I did have to make an exception a couple of days ago because we had to rush out straight after dinner and when we got back home it was already 11:15 pm and we were all tired so I couldn’t face clearing up just then. But I didn’t enjoy seeing the backlog waiting for me in the morning, even though it really didn’t take that much time to deal with it.
What is your pet hate?

My pet peeve is people not picking up after their dogs. If I can pick up after my dog, then they can pick up after their dogs. Management even provides baggies along the apartment property for pet owners to grab if their dog surprises them.

I have quite a number of pet peeves, and lately it's seeing the bathroom light left ON. There's 4 people in this apartment, and I'm the only one who always remembers to turn off the bathroom light when it's not in use.
I know what you mean about being the first to get up in the morning and seeing a pile of dirty dishes. Surprisingly, I've learned to appreciate it through the years. Washing the dishes first thing in the morning is like a gentle chime - it wakes me up in a slow and subtle way. I just ask my housemates to soak the dishes in soap and water at night so it would be easier to scrub them the next day.

I know what you're saying. I guess I have a pet hate but I'm not sure what it is. I do like to keep our desks tidy but I've given up on Vince's. When he leeft work, they were taking bets on the colour of the top of his desk. He is one of those who works best with an untidy desk. Or thinks he does!

I cannot stand it when my cats enter my bedroom when my door is open so I can go to the bathroom to relieve myself and when I get into my bed and close the door, the cat meows that he wants to leave the bedroom but cannot since the door is closed.

I love our housekeeper (my husband's 3rd cousin); but she is always in such a hurry that she leaves things lying around, cupboard doors and microwave doors open, lights on, etc. I wish she'd slow down and finish the job. Have a good weekend.

I live aone yet there are always dishes to clean. My problem has to do with all the tiny leftovers I keep. I don´t know why I don´t share them with Luna and stop having so many little dishes with this and that.

Here the maid does it once a day and yes it is not always clean but I am used to it.

Being here by myself I would have to say a dirty litter box, I always clean up after the cats and make sure the box is clean, Sometimes in the morning I see they have had a busy night and then I hate all the scooping in the morning,

@fleura I feel your pain. One of my many, many bugbears (I’ve been a grumpy old man since puberty) is neighbours playing their radio loudly in the garden, especially when tuned into giddy, vacuous, moronic, infantile trash banter. Why can’t they just tune into Gardeners Question Time like a normal person or enjoy the birdsong among the trees? Beats me.
