Friday recap

How is it Friday already? It's been a good, productive week. Not everything was rosy and dandy, but that's how life should be. I'm glad to have had a few days of meetup with my eldest sister. She flies back to Calgary tomorrow. We didn't get to spend a lot of time together because we were still in the US when she came here, and then she spent a week in Sydney and came back 3 days after we arrived. And that's on her last week of vacation here. It's fine. She might come back this December for a month-long vacation. We can make plans in advance. I finally settled a few bills due and stocked full our pantry and freezer here in the new apartment. It felt good to fill up the cupboards and to organize items. This house feels like home now. My sister also helped me clean and clear the cupboards in the old apartment. She is the ultimate OC neat freak in the family so I know she'll do a fine job. Everything was done in an hour. And I'm glad to be cooking in my kitchen again. I'm trying to be a minimalist cook now: I just stock up on fresh produce and ingredients that should be consumed within 3-4 days. I find that there's less wastage when I do it this way. The market is just two blocks away from the apartment. It's a good reason to walk and get this body moving. Later, I'll review tasks listed in my weekly planner. I enjoy crossing off tasks and errands at the end of the week. It makes me feel accomplished. How's your week been?

I'm glad you had some time with your sister. My schedule is pretty full over the next couple of weeks with doctors' appointments and contractors starting on various home projects. Have a good weekend.

Thank you, Linda. I hope you and your husband are doing well. What kind of home projects are the contractors working on?

@almostoveryou You're welcome. They are redoing the steps off the porch to make them less steep and adding handrails. Someone is coming Wednesday to replace a window the landscapers broke.

Yes, that's true. I don't need a lot but I want all the essentials to be present in my kitchen. Thanks.

I'd be happy to send her over to your place -- if only! I hope you got some errands done.

Are the doctor appointments for yourself or for someone else?
