Today's trip to the little Tesco again. (23/7/2024)

I've just been to the little Tesco again, and it's very hot out. Not as hot as on Friday, but hot enough. So I wore no mac or coat, even though Mum wanted me to wear a mac. I said, I'm not wearing a mac in this weather, thank you very much! I'm glad I didn't, I would've been roasting like a pig! We'd run out of bananas and I wanted one for my lunch, so Mum said just get a couple, and we'll get some more tomorrow. I set off, past the quiet, empty neighbouring house, and as I was approaching the neighbouring street that adjoins our street I saw our ex-neighbours car on a drive down the street. The house sticks out a bit before the road turns back on itself, then there's a bend that leads to a cul-de-sac I couldn't see from where I was standing. If their new house was round there I wouldn't have been able to see where they live. I went to the post box to post a TV competition for me and a birthday card Mum.is sending to Malcolm Beamond, a guy who used to come to our church, infact he was my first youth leader. After I'd posted the letters I continued on to the shop. I got the TV magazines as usual, then I got a bounty bar for Syd and some chocolate croissants for Mum and Syd. Then I treated myself to an aero again. A peppermint one this time. I had to get 5 of the bananas because the organic ones are bunched together with a sticky strip thing round them. Then I went to get some strawberries. I saw plenty with the 23rd on (which is today's date), but eventually I saw a few underneath with the 24th on, so I got one of those. After that I got some Alpen cereal with no added sugar for my Mum and 2 bottles of milk, and then I went to pay. It came to just over £15 so I gave the lady a £20. Then I set off for home. It started to get really hot when I was coming past the entrance to our ex-neighbours new street, and as I was coming up the end of our street. I couldn't wait to get home, but walking faster would just make me feel hotter. Eventually I got home. I gave Mum her change, club card and shopping list. Then I started to unpack the groceries and put them away. I told Mum about having to get more bananas, and about the dates on the strawberries. When I'd put everything away, I sat down to tell you all about it and watch the telly. Homes Under the Hammer is on again at the moment. What are you lot getting up to today? I hope you are all well. Have a nice day.

Sounds like a busy but productive day! It’s definitely better to avoid roasting in a mac in that kind of heat. Your shopping trip seems well-planned, and those treats sound delicious. I’m just catching up on some mylot notifications at the moment. Hope you enjoy Homes Under the Hammer and have a great rest of your day!

Thank you very much. It took me about 20 minutes! No, I wouldn't have wanted to wear a mac in this heat. Yes, we do plan our shopping trips well! I hope you can catch up with your MyLot notifications. I'm doing that too! Homes Under the Hammer has some really grotty houses on today! But they'll look great when they're renovated! I hope you enjoy the rest of your day too.

@sharonelton You’re welcome! It sounds like you’ve got a good handle on both your shopping trips and catching up on MyLot. Those renovation shows are always fun to watch, especially seeing the transformation of those houses.

@annierose Yes, I think so too. Yes, I like to know how they turn out in the end.

Glad you managed to get what you needed. I think our horribly hot weather which we had earlier this month has blown over there. Stay cool.

How hot are we talking? If my mother was to suggest me to wear a coat I'd call a psychiatrist. Sounds like everything went well, and you survived the heat. That's nice.

I don't know what the exact temperature was, but it was too hot to wear a mac or a coat! Yes, I survived the heat! Nearly didn't survive Friday though. I felt really bad when I got home with a terrible headache and I thought I'd got sun stroke or something!

@Sharonelton I fixed a leak in our shower and motored up to Belfast to sign some papers relating to my former employment. Also received this month’s pension.
