Start the head of lettuce countdown! Trump is said to be reconsidering JD Vance for VP

There are lots of rumors swirling on Twitter but I also found this article on MSNBC from this morning. While JD Vance was a decent choice when Trump was running against Biden, he doesn't seem like such a great choice with Kamala running and after some underwhelming speeches by him.
The thinking is that Trump selected Vance because, although he used to be anti-Trump, he has evolved into an extreme MAGA nut. The campaign and Trump thought it would be a good idea to double-down on the MAGA crap to get an even bigger voter turnout in November. Well now Kamala is the candidate and she has a broader appeal to young people and independents. Suddenly selecting an even more extreme version of Trump does not seem like such a great plan.
So there are rumblings that Trump may be reconsidering his decision. You know what? That wouldn't surprise me at all. Trump has no loyalty to anyone other than himself. (Just ask Ivana, Marla, and Melania!) It might be time to set up the head of lettuce. (former British PM Liz Truss reference)

As a Brit, I appreciate the head of lettuce reference. 
I think many of us over here are pleased Joe Biden has stepped aside and let Kamala Harris take on Donald Trump. I don’t know much about her, but I hope she can turn the polls around and prevent Trump from getting back in the White House. He’s despicable and it’s difficult to watch him without feeling sick. How anyone can contemplate voting for him is beyond my comprehension.

After having seen/heard more about Vance recently, I've gotten so disgusted by him . . . so ohhhh, this would be an interesting twist to all the madness. Head of lettuce . . . yah, forT it could be a bag of Cheetos

The whole Truss thing was who would last longer--a head of iceberg lettuce or her stint as UK Prime Minster. The lettuce won.
Cheetos and Mountain Dew wouldn't work b/c they are full of chemicals and preservatives. A fresh head of iceberg outlasted Truss though!

Trump is a hot mess right now. Can you imagining him debating Harris? Prosecutor v. criminal? But I had not heard he was considering dumping Vance. Vance's "pre-conversion" statements about Trump wore pretty spot on. To be clear, I WOULD write a song for Miley Cyrus or Britney Spears if there were enough money in it for me. But I would NOT sell out to Trump under any circumstances. Oh snap! I have not checked Trump's stock (DJT) yet today!

I think you are getting a bit ahead of yourself here. For one thing, I think Harris' appeal is QUITE a bit overrated at this point. I also highly doubt Trump will ditch Vance. I think what IS happening is the media is trying to suddenly portray Harris as a stronger candidate than she is, sending the Trump camp into an imaginary state of fear. It's laughable.

The Harris thing might be overrated but she certainly does appeal to more moderate voters than Vance does. The Harris campaign set a record with how much they raised in just 24 hours after the announcement.
Will Trump dump Vance? I doubt it b/c he refuses to ever admit that he made a bad decision. I do think that he and his campaign are regretting it now though. Vance brings nothing new to MAGA and against Harris that is exactly what they need.

@NJChicaa Umm. Refuses to admit he made a bad decision? How many people did Trump fire during his four years in office? TOO MANY TO COUNT. So, THAT statement is simply ridiculous.
As for Vance vs. Harris, that's not what the race is. It's Harris vs. Trump. So, why the sudden focus on Vance? Probably because there's not enough against Trump that has worked so now it's time to focus on his pick?
As for how much was raised? Who cares? It will take more than money to win the race. For one thing, she owns Biden's record and no one likes it, so there's that. She has a TON of work to do.
As for what MAGA brings against Harris is a record voters support and a plan and vision for America they support, while Harris sports a record that 64% of Americans rejected.
