Yesterday I gave a warm and almost new parka to my grandson. I never used it because it was too heavy for me. I´m giving away all my heavy garments as I´m still fighting against having to use a cane.
Last year I gave away to Carolina a wonderful leather bag that even was of an elegant brand. But I prefer lighter bags made of fabric. Anyway, my times of splendour are gone. If I was invited to a royal palace, I´d wear my Skechers.
I sent pain killer meds to Leticia with Anita. She lives 2 houses away from her. Leticia´s son will not have time to come for them soon. And she told me that they were very expensive. She went to be treated by a private doctor and he will not give her any drugs given by the government. I am getting free meds for my arthrosis and they are the same drugs. I have extra Tramadol and Paracetamol as I forget to take them. So, there they are.
I´ll now go and read my notifications. See you around.

LOL. Same. I'd just wear anything that's comfortable even in a formal event.

Anyway, I will not go through any breach of etiquette. Nobody has ever invited me to a palace and I doubt that I´d be invited in the future.

@kareng Years ago, one of Leticia´s children had one of those booths and I sent them things to sell. But now they have other works.

@JudyEv They will. Those meds are what the doctor prescribed. I only helped her in spending less.

If a cane is needed and/or keeps you from falling, it is so worth it. It's good that you are sharing what you won't ever use, just more steps taken towards your being ready to move when the weather is warmer.

I have thever learned to use a cane. Maybe I should go directly to a wheel chair when the time comes.

@MarieCoyle It is not because they are terrible. It is because I´m dumb. I have little coordination with my hands. When I took one of Dixie´s canes to the place where they vaccinated you, I held the cane as if I was directing an orchestra.. I don´t use umbrellas for the same reason. I prefer to get wet. It is better than to get wet AND take an eye out of someone´s face.

I have had endless surgeries on my left leg. During recoveries I’ve had them all—basic crutches, a cane, a walker when I first came home from a surgery, and a wheelchair for the one I had that took months to heal. Canes are not terrible.. I was still raising kids at the time. They aren’t just for older people, truly. And they do give a person a better balance and help prevent falls, which no one wants.

It is not really kindness. In real kindness, you give away what you need. I learned that very early in life. I had a very generous husband.

I do so much better when I wear my comfortable clothes. I have never really liked heavy coats, either.

I never had very heavy coats. But now I don´t even like a bag that has some weight.

In 2020, my husband and I had a good clean out. Many unused clothes went to Charity. Now, 4 years later, we need to do it again.

All her children have pitched in and she will be taken care of. She told me that yesterday when I asked her if she needed money. But if I have these meds and she has to buy them, I had to give them to her. I was worried because she lives so far away from me. Her son, the only one who drives, works too much so it was difficult for me to send them. I was very happy to have thought about Anita.

I have never been able to use one. The only time I used one was then I had to stay in line for the covid vaccines. I did not want to wait in that line. My legs would not hold it. Fortunatly, the only time we had problems was the first time. For the second vaccine things were better and they had chairs.

@marguicha I'm glad there were chairs for that vaccine line. I can't stand up too long, either.

@sallypup They soon discovered that they had to have the people there for 20 minutes after they put the vaccine.

I don´t understand it. For each thing I give away, I get 2 or 3 new ones.

Why would you have to use a cane to wear your heavy garments? We both need to downsize for sure! Have a good day.

I´m giving away every heavy thing I have. I have no need for them. I gave to Camila a beautiful blanket the last day she was here. If I used it, I would have turned into a stamp

@LindaOHio The last time that Daniel came here he told me that he´d like to have some of my furniture. But I prefer to sell part of it as I am sure that he won´t take good care of it.
