We try to get our garden in as early as possible every year. We want to grow as much as possible, as quickly as possible. Plus we want it in before it just gets so miserably hot, then we can weed early in the morning. Well this year, it dried up, I was watering but, I guess it was not enough, because it is all gone. We got a few squash, a few green beans, but nothing to write home about for sure.
So last weekend, we played a risky game of beat the clock, tilled and replanted everything again. Keeping my fingers crossed. I hope we can get at least a little bit before the first frost. I hope we did not waste our time and energy.
I had such high hopes, wanted to can and freeze some for the winter. prices are just so high, I was trying to stretch our dollar a little bit. We have never had such terrible luck with our garden, always got a little something out of it.
How's your garden this year?
not my picture, wish it was. I'd love to have all those tomatoes

Winter here in Australia. Garlic bulbs are doing well. Orange, mandarin and lemon trees are timely for picking during this cold time of the year.
Lettuces and watercress can stand the cold. Parsley and herbs are plentiful.

I do not have a garden this year. Good intentions and all that. I do have some nice herbs here and there around my yard. Lots of mint.

It's been a hot one this year. And, to think, we haven't seen the worst of it yet.

I'm sorry that your garden didn't do so well.
We have some tomato plants.
We only plant enough to use them in salads or on the table for sandwiches.
I usually get a big case of tomatoes and can them, a case will last the 2 of us 2 years.
I am not going to do them this year, as there are still alot left from last summer's canning session.

Our squash and collard greens did very well, turnip greens okay. Cherry tomatoes are doing pretty good, but all full size tomatoes are not doing much at all. Everything else was a no go so far. Bell peppers are looking good, but not ripened yet. Peas and lima beans were just so-so this year.
I am hoping our Fall garden does better. It's time to get to planting on that now! Gotta get the hubby in gear!!

Sorry your garden didn't do as well for you as you had hoped.
We stopped having a garden a few years ago when someone came in and stole our tomatoes plants. dug them up and took them. Damaged other things as well. And went to the neighbors and stole their tomato plants as well.
