I found this interesting collage I had made of myself at different life stages. To the left, you can see an oil painting. That is of my father Eriks Raisters a popular Latvian writer and poet. I was very much a “Daddy’s girl” and it was quite devastating when he died when I was only ten. From the painting and since my face is so close I think you can see a close resemblance of me to my father, At least everyone I knew said I looked like him. He got me writing small verses in both Latvian and English at the age of 8. He also gave me a children’s book of poems which I still have today. Of all the best things I am glad that he gave me the talent of writing and creating poetry.

@RasmaSandra Have you considered doing up a book of poems yourself, and dedicating it to him.

@RasmaSandra I was lucky not to need glasses until my mid 40s, but my wife has worn glasses pretty much her whole life.
