Have you ever thought that you'd envy a cat????

Well, it got up over 100 degrees, and I didn't run errands. I stayed home and drank iced tea. Only one problem, I had to make a new batch of the stuff. It's 3:50 p.m. and I put the water on to heat and bundled the tea bags and hung them in the container. After the water got to boiling I grabbed the potholders and started pouring the water over the bags...that's when I started being envious of cats. Why you ask? Think on it a minute, both hands are busy with pouring super HOT water over tea bags and what happens??? I'll be hanged if my nose doesn't start to itch like it fell into a huge patch of freshly crushed poison oak!!!! I am in a position where I can't put the pot down (I have a 4 foot by 8 foot kitchen where there is my stove, double sink, and full size fridge) so I am there suffering wanting so badly to scratch my nose. Freya happens to come see what I'm doing and the thought strikes me: She can have her front paws busy with something and have her nose itch, and without any problems she can scratch her nose with one of her hind feet without a care in the world. As a human, supposedly so superior, if our hands are full and we can't put down what we're doing and our noses itch, we HAVE to suffer until we can put down what is in our hands so we can scratch. I was going cross eyed until I finished pouring the boiling hot water over the tea bags and could set down the kettle. What a relief to be able to reach up and scratch, and yes, I'll be gross, stick my finger up my nose and get that little piece of lint out of it to control the itching!!! Next time you look down on your dog or cat as inferior, think about the abilities they have that you weren't blessed with. I'd like to see one of you lifting your leg and scratching your nose with your foot!!!!
