No it's not the cooking part , nor eating. It's cutting up all the vegetables, meat , and getting all the ingredients ready . I find it so much more harder than actually cooking . Onions got some beef with me , always making me cty The second most hardest part is cleaning up all the utensils after the meal . Which is the hardest part of the process for you ?

That part used to take me the longest - all the prep work - cutting stuff seemed to take eons! Now, after all these years, I think I've gotten more efficient. The eating part is always the quickest .

@KityCat It's worth it to eat a great meal, right? But not worth it when the food turns out disappointing .

We always feel that way at Thanksgiving. Hours and hours of prep and anticipation to be full in five minutes. lol

I don't cook like I used to, but when I did, I would clean as I went. I would also buy pre-cut things when I could.

@KityCat It was just something I was tought. I have a dishwasher, so it's easy to dump dishes in it as I go. Saves time on the clean up and I only have to run it when it gets full enough.

I still very much enjoy cooking. I will admit because of course I have to do it everyday it's not ALWAYS enjoyable. But I mostly don't mind it at all.

I am the primary cook in the house. I can definitely relate to that. I don't use cookbooks often, but when I want to change something up, I'll start digging through them a bit looking for a fresh idea even if I know I will rarely follow a recipe to the letter.

If they help to clean then that's better than cleaning alone

Prepping a meal takes so much time! That is my least favorite part of cooking usually, because I am always in a hurry--hubby's blood sugar dropping or just on the way somewhere, etc. I don't mind the cleanup, or actual cooking. I enjoy cooking. Now, if no other responsibilities and I had all day to prep and prepare meals with nothing else to do, except eat them (I'd we way overweight for sure!!), that would be okay.

Definitely cleaning up the mess. When you're the one who prepared the meal, cooked it, and then you still have to clean everything up yourself - that's what I find the most exhausting.

I'd have to say the cleanup. To me the process of cooking and what makes it enjoyable is the process of prep and cooking it, and of course eating the result.

I enjoy cooking and chopping things is my favourite part. For me, the hardest part is cleaning after cooking and maintaining a always clean kitchen. I have OCD for cleanliness and I can not overlook it even for a day. Now with age, I sometimes loose my patience with preparations that take long time.

@KityCat Yes, I like space around me to look clean and neatly organised, else my mind is restless and I am not able to function properly.
