Giving You the Lowdown

Okay, so I've told you things are crazy around here and I considered moving.
A week or so ago, my friend had enough proof that she sent e-mails to the company who owns the complex. What proof? The woman who did the cleaning around here entered apartments, stole their drugs and sold them. They fired her.
That's not the only thing going on here. The woman who used to be the manager here and is now the district manager worked with the cleaning woman who also stole belongings from those moving out and took them to a consignment store.
For turning in the cleaning woman, the manager told her she needed to leave and gave her until the end of the month to get out. Yes, she could fight it because she did nothing wrong. However, she's been treated like yesterday's garbage even by the residents here, so she's leaving. Right now, she has nowhere to go when she moves out on the last day. She does have a place, new construction, but isn't available until the 17th.
As soon as she's gone, she will start bringing charges against the now district manager.
I decided not to move. There really isn't anything better out there. However, I had a situation yesterday.
The new manager sent around a new lease for those whose lease renewal is coming soon. I signed my new lease back in April. They also changed the amount on my rent. It's less than they showed in April, but that's not the point and why I'm livid. I pay my rent a month ahead of time. I'm on Housing. They need to let Housing know what my new rent is so I will know what my new portion is. I just got a letter from Housing with the amount of my portion for the first of October. It's based on the rent amount on the lease I signed in April. Now, they need to get the new information and get me a new letter for my rent. I have no idea what I owe for October, a payment I would make when I get paid in September.
As I walked this morning, I decided to pay my rent according to the letter I just received from Housing a couple of days ago. I'd rather have a credit than be late and face eviction for being late with my rent. Not going to happen.
Okay, that's what I can tell you without giving names and organizations. When all is said and done, those involved will be in prison and hopefully, we will have a good manager who will work with the residents instead of against them.
Now you know what I've been facing for the past month or more. Time for football. Thanks for reading. The image belongs to me. Geese from this morning's walk.

@just4him If you are able to afford the higher rate until they get housing up to speed, you are very wise to just let a credit accumulate.

@GardenGerty It's lower. I'm on housing, so it wouldn't be much of a credit. Yes, it's wise. Otherwise I would be late on my rent.

I can see why you considered moving. Being on housing assistance limits you greatly, but you're right to go with what housing has. You can also give your case worker a copy of the lease agreement you signed, too. I had to do that one year because of communication breakdowns with my own housing authority and apartment complex. I'm no longer on housing and paid off my house. But, I was thankful for what I did have when I had it.

Nice pic of the geese. I will be hearing them going over soon.
I'm so sorry to hear you are having such an uproar there. I hope it all gets straightened out soon. We all want to stay on the good side of Housing. That is for sure.

That is a bad bad management.
Here too we face challenges like Seepage issues, basement parking water drainage issues when it rains more.
Yet, this sort of lack of security and mismanagement is bad.
Hopefully you will have a much more sane and better manager(s) soon.

It is not just my apartment. There are similar ones across our country where lack of planning hurts, even though the Residential Societies layouts, Gardens, Facades look good.
I sometimes think that the Management puts more focus on showing off rather than work more seriously on the nitty-gritties of everyday issues.
Hence, the resultant neglect.
And of course, corruption and indifference too play their role.

That sounds even more crazy than the stuff that went on where my sister used to live. No wonder you feel in a dither. Hopefully the guilty will get their just rewards.

I have a similar disgusting situation going on. I thought things were under control, but they were supposed to be basing the mortgage on my reduced property tax..Now they say 2 weeks after the fact, they don't have the proper documentation. Hello...they could have called my property tax office..on the form to get what they needed. The property tax office should have a clue what they are doing and have sent out the right stuff in the first place, Now, I am going to have to waste time again, getting this straightened out. I am going to the real estate office Monday AM and make sure what I need is faxed in. I will also check with the provider to make sure they have what they need. There is a little more to this than that..but suffice it to say, I feel your pain,

I hope everything will be okay soon. God bless. I hate seeing people going to prison not because I don't want them to be disciplined, but because of the reason why they are going in there. They could have live fairly coz at the end of the day they just need a few things to have a better life.
There is no easy access in life, we all have struggles, I hope everyone will have a clear and good thinking about life, that this is not permanent, everything in here will lose its value.

@just4him I hope they are not so stubborn to change after this, and I hope they will have a change of mind, in Jesus name.

Wow you've been dealing with a lot Valerie. I would agree that it's better to pay your rent according to the letter and wind up having a credit. You certainly don't want to be hit with an eviction. Its really sad when people resort to stealing.

That's what I'm going to do until I get the next letter. No, I don't need an eviction.
Yes, it is sad.

I understand the challenges and at times it is frustrating . You have taken the right decision in having a credit than being late on payments and losing the place to live. Plus, you are paying as per the letter, so thats a reference that any law would accept. Unfortunate that few people did few worse things and well karma will take care of them along with the law of land. Hopefully , you will have a good manager who will work with the residents and not against any of you!
