Do You ever Talk to your Cat?

Izzy the cat was sitting on top of the couch back. I stopped to talk to her. I touched her nose and said this is your nose. Then I did the same with her ears, mouth, back, and tail. She gave me a look, jumped down, and ran—poor kitty. She came out of hiding minutes later to see what other silliness she might miss. Do you ever talk to your cat or dog? Do they ever talk to you? What do you talk about?

It is not crazy to talk to your cat. They like the attention and you feel good also.

@pitsipeahie If someone does not like animals at least a little, I would not care if they think I'm crazy. I will tell the cat everything and my secrets to the dog.

@akalinus To fellow cat lovers, it's not crazy at all. They can relate to that. But to others who don't have pets or aren't as fond of animals, it might seem a bit funny-awkward or even a little crazy.

I used to talk with cat before. However, I stopped doing it because he is not responding.

@akalinus He just clinged to me when hungry. He even did not glance back despite calling his name.

Maybe she does not like what you tell her. Maybe she wants you to praise her or just wants to know your secrets.

I am sure they are interested in the political situation or war news. I think they know when you tell them you love them. That makes them feel good.

Dogs are wonderful. One of the best things humans ever did was to domesticate dogs. We always have fond memories of them after they pass on.

No;I never talk to the two stray cats who are here in our home.A few years back I used to talk to my brother's cows;but later I felt it was silly. They would never answer. However I know they know I love them.

I used to talk to cows too. All living beings need someone to love them.

@Shivram59 Yes, they do. I used to have a garden every year. I talked to the tomato and cucumber plants. I told them they were beautiful and I loved them. I praised them for the beautiful vegetables they produce and know they will give us wonderful food. They did.

No pets here. Yet I have seen people talking to their pets. I saw a vlogger teasing his dog by saying No for a treat. The dog understood and became cranky. Finally the Vlogger had to give in !

Dogs take their treats seriously. Don't ever try breaking one in half. They know when they have been cheated.

I have always talked to my pets as if they were people. I know that most animals are not going to know most words, but they understand inflection and tone. Then again, I also talk to inanimate objects like they are people so I might not be the best person to ask.

That's great for your pets. I also talk to objects.Like tell them they are in my way or ask if the cat knocked you off the table.

I used to talk to my cats all of the time. In some cases, I swear they could understand me. The most heartbreaking example, was when I told my cat, Precious, he could go. Three days after that conversation, he did.

Precious knew that you would not be angry if he left. It is a good thing you told him so he could go peacefully.

To hear my voice after a long time I do talk to my cats, Just us being three in this apartment they have started to attempt to answer me but of course, we don't speak the same language so I just imagine what they might be saying to me. Like this morning Tish jumped on top of my PC chair where she likes to sit all day while I do my work and I said good morning and was promptly answered by a meow, It is the best she can do

I love that story. My friend has a cat that always meows when you speak to him. I get a kick out of talking to him because he always answers.

Kitty and I chat all the time. Right now she is in the closet, as the guys are using a kitty chipper right outside my window. It's actually a wood chipper, but that's not how she sees it.

Cats do not like anything that makes noise. The cats here hide every time I run the vacuum cleaner. They want to avoid being sucked in by that thing. It is an ordeal for them when the mowers come on Friday.
