Corn? I have about 4 stalks of Indian Corn and maybe about 4 ears of corn on them but I haven't a clue when they'll be ready to harvest.
A couple minutes ago I picked an ear to see what it looks like but the kernels were all white which isn't what I expected because the variety on the package shows many different colors so now what do I do?
1 hit wonder featured on Ed Sullivan yet this version wasn't as popular as the one that the Supremes covered ..... of course I'm thinking of my corn, it just keeps me hangin on.

My corn was a bust this year. I've heard that beans and corn like to be planted together, so that's what I did this year, but apparently, the corn didn't get the message. The beans did well and still producing.
Time to pick the ears is when the silk turns brown.
Pic is from a couple years ago.

I think that @TheHorse maybe knows. I think when the tassles change or something. I bet you bought the jewel type corn, didn't you? The pretty colors are tempting.

Yesterday morning I had 4 ears then I picked one to see if it was ripe, uhhh, dumb. The cob was all white and smallish and the kernals weren't completely defined yet. I sowed ornamental corn seeds so I'm wondering if that has a different kind of harvest time.

Best of luck to you, I know one year we tried to grow corn in Latvia when I lived there and that was a total loss, I don't think we even got any ears coming out,

I've never tried to grow corn but I certainly do enjoy corn on the cob. We had some good corn this summer and it wasn't expensive.
Hope you get some help here from fellow myLotters who are gardeners.

From what I discovered Indian Corn is harvested in October/November. The corn is really pretty with many colors like you mentioned. Makes for a great wreath or centerpiece decoration but the Natives actually ate it. It's not sweet like regular corn but has a starchy texture.
When it comes to eating Indian Corn, I think I'll skip it and stick to the POPCORN type. Although the hard kernels can be made into popcorn. Interesting
Vanilla Fudge was not commercially successful, but did an interesting interpretation of the Supremes classic.

@rebelann Season of the Witch which VF covered was originally recorded by Donovan. VF also covered a few Beatles tunes like "Ticket to Ride", "Eleanor Rigby", and "You Can't Do That". Seems they enjoyed doing other's recordings putting their own organ-heavy sound to them.
Good luck with that ear!

Since it's indian corn wait until the silk turns brown. You can even wait for the stalk to start turning brown

The tassels are usually brown when the corn is ripe; and you can tell by the size of the husk if there's a full ear of corn inside. I don't know why your corn would be white unless it's not Indian corn. White corn can be very delicious. Have a good day.
