Third Times a Charm

Sometimes I go through life wondering, "Does this stuff only ever to me?" We got to the hotel and checked in and were given room 118 at the Baymont Inn in Kennesaw, Georgia. We get into the room and the bed is unmade. The blanket is sitting, folded, on a chair and the pillows are propped on the desk. I told the wife to wait and told the front desk, "I don't think the room you gave us is ready." He agreed and reassigned us to room 120 next door. We walk in and the room is ready, but the TV did not work. I called the front desk and said, "Hey, TV's not working..." Back to the front desk to receive the key for room 107. Ultimately that room worked, and it was an upgrade to a minor suite. I will say the front desk was very good and helpful through the experience. But I felt like I was playing, "Musical rooms."

At least you did not have to traipse everything back outside. It sounds like they are overworked and understaffed. Glad you took it calmly.

That was quite the room hopping adventure! Glad the front desk sorted it out and you ended up with a nice upgrade. Sometimes, you just have to laugh at these little adventures and they make for the best stories later on.

It's times like these that you remember the most. Funny how we rarely remember what went right but always remember what didn't. lol

Right? If IKEA sold cars, God knows WHAT you'd be driving once you put it all together. lol

What a crazy experience and I can hear them playing "musical rooms" as you go from one to another. Glad by #3 you got an upgrade and didn't have to try for #4. Reminds me of Goldilocks and the Three Bears

That must be so embarrassing for the hotel manager. Going to give them bad review?

@porwest Well, they honestly tried their very best to make your stay comfortable and enjoyable making sure that you'd be singing positive tunes after the musical rounds.

I ultimately worked out in our favor. At least my wife and I have a good sense of humor, so we had a good laugh over it. If the third room would have had a problem, though, I think our attitudes may have changed quite dramatically, especially after eight hours of driving.

I am glad you finally got a room that worked out for you and a TV that worked.

It was starting to become questionable. I think if room 3 would not have fit the bill, we'd have decided to go somewhere else.

Sometimes that happens. I'm glad it was a positive outcome. Have a good long weekend.

In the end it worked out. We haven't booked our room yet for the return trip, but there's a La Quinta in Kennesaw and we may check that out.
